  1. I liked this thread until the last post. Nobody passes on a free IH 181. I don't care what condition it is in.
  2. Yep. My LCS recently had a beat but complete and intact Iron Fist 14 come in that I had first crack at and I didn't even ask about it. I went back next day after thinking about it but it had already sold for an extremely reasonable amount. I'd have slammed that $ down for it if I hadn't been a dum dum in the moment. Im now on board with the low grade keys.
  3. I guess we'll find out when/if the shop actually closes (or moves)
  4. And he sells all his back issues at cover price plus a discount if you have cash I hope his store isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
  5. Which shop? Hope it wasn't my local
  6. Got this for less than cover price. There is a fingerprint smudge on the FC But otherwise it's a pretty sharp copy. I'm excited!
  7. can we get a better scan or images of Amazing Spider-man #90? thanks!
  8. Forgot to post positive feedback from a transaction last year. Great book, thanks! will deal with again for sure.
  9. Snagged this for cover price at the lcs today along with a nice pile other spidey issues. Woot.
  10. Uncanny X-men, for me. Not the most exciting maybe, but its been a lifelong goal ever since the X-Men got me into comics in the late 80s. So, GL me I suppose!
  11. I definitely went about my UXM run backwards and wish I hadn't. I wish I had focused more on keys from the start and filled in the regular issues as good deals popped up. I have grabbed a key here and there, but now I'm kind of stuck on the big keys and all the silver age stuff. At this point I'm just looking for the best deal possible on any issue I'm missing from the run. I know better for when I start on Spidey, I reckon.
  12. Thanks , ha. It's only one of my favorite films. I think I want to just sell this copy raw and get a new one but I have no idea what that weird issue with the front cover does to the value of the book. I don't think a maybe 9.2 is worth slabbing. Dude I bought it from at the time had two copies, both really nice but I somehow picked this one? I should have got them both
  13. I'm confused about where you say you are staying. What is 12th east? do you mean 12th avenue? Will you be visiting any boroughs outside of Manhattan? Have you ever been to NYC before? Avoid Times Square other than to see it lit up at night. It's amazing and you'll never forget it and then you can go do other stuff. Pastrami and very good cheesecake: http://www.sargesdeli.com/locations.html really good and in midtown so not too far from you by subway or http://eisenbergsnyc.com/home/ also not far from you by subway and right by the Flatiron building. I don't know why someone would say there is only one comic shop in New York City? Take the kids to Midtown Comics times square, even if just to gawk. The store is neat-0. Metropolis Comics is indeed really cool to see for the original art decorating pretty much every inch of wall space. Be sure to check out their bathroom if they'll let you. The place is epic, actually. There is also JHU comics in Midtown near the Empire State building. In the East Village there is St. Marks Comics. In the West Village there is Mysterious Time Machine.
