  1. Outcast was selling in the hundreds of dollars and on occasion would break the two hundred dollar mark in 9.8 - last sale in GPA for a 9.8 was $18
  2. There have been rumors about The Sinister Six. This news coupled with Keaton staying on might lead towards that versus just a cameo for Vulture.
  3. I wasn’t aware Heritage and CGC shared parent companies. I personally don’t think a retailer should have a stake in a grading company that they have books graded through. What would prevent them from getting preferential treatment and getting a grade bump anytime there is a marginal grade? To use a common reference - isn’t that why Consumer Reports doesn’t accept paid advertisements?
  4. Is it ethical for a re-seller of slabs to have an undisclosed financial stake in a company that slabs books? I would hope not but maybe I am being naive in thinking that this type of practice would be frowned upon.
  5. For those that have seen is it too dark for a 6 and 8 year old to see?
  6. Finished the book this afternoon and enjoyed it so much I headed right to the movie. hated the movie and contemplated walking out halfway through - thought it was poorly cast. If you are going to have Garth as Halliday at least get Dana Carvey to play him.
  7. Must have had an influx of new books being dropped off at Paradise for grading to pay for some of these year old invoices. Eventually the people dropping books off now will start a “is two years too long for my book to be delivered from Paradise Comics?” thread
  8. thank you, would it automatically get a green label if left on?
  9. i ended up passing on it, maybe i will regret it but the picture is below (not mine) thank you for the reply - I would still like to know for future reference
  10. if a book has a price sticker over the original printed price how would that impact grade? As it stands the book is in a 3.5 - 4.0 range with the sticker. Would a book be knocked significant for the sticker at that level? Is it possible to remove the sticker without damaging the book? it is not a book i presently own but one i am considering purchasing. Any help would be appreciated! Patrick
  11. when I look at the Vuescan site it shows they support the HP Scanjet 8200 driver but not the 8250 - does the 8200 support cover the 8250 as well? Any help is appreciated! Patrick
  12. Sounds a bit like a Ponzi scheme. Collecting money from many promising a service or good. Use that money for other interests and fulfill only a small percentage of those contracts, Over time you are then unable to satisfy the demands of those you have obligations to nor do you have the financial means to make it right until the pressure becomes so great and there is no plausible way out of the mess that has been created and the bubble bursts.. Patience is not a virtue if this is in fact what is going on. You don't want to be the one with nooks in their possession or at CGC under their account when that bubble does in fact burst. There was a pic posted previously from their social media account with a large number of books "supposedly" on their way to CGC. If financial trouble are the root of this there are going to be a lot of people left exposed. Think about it. If these books have been in their possession for 8-12 months and every month they continue to take in money AND books for submission to CGC this could be a significant amount of money and market value in books that we are talking about here. Hoping for a resolution for all those involved.
  13. you will be able to see the grade online within your "my submissions" page by clicking on the invoice number. The grades will only be visible when your submission goes to shipped / safe which is the last phase of the process (verified, scheduled for grading, graded, graded / quality control, shipped safe). The time it takes to get to each phase will vary by the service level you submitted under.
  14. Just an update in case anyone was interested. I forwarded the sellers email to Bree to get her thoughts and she offered to inspect the book. With the buyer being in Australia I could understand why they weren't interested in taking her up on that. What was questionable and made no sense was that the buyer kept saying it wasn't caused from shipping and that CGC knowingly encapsulated the book in it's present condition. This made no logical sense as the pictures from my listing and the pictures that he had forwarded showed a dramatically changed book. This however makes me question the buyers endgame or true intent as he filed for a return as "item not as described" which then involved me even though it was through eBay GSP. This morning I called the eBay concierge phone number and got a great representative that was well spoken and articulate. She asked me to hold while she conferenced in the case resolutions department and before connecting me she said she spoke to the case resolution specialist and they were going to close the case without a need to speak with me and that the buyer would be reimbursed from the GSP shipping insurance and that there was nothing further that I needed to do. I know many outside the US are adamantly opposed to the GSP program (and I understand why they would be) but from a US sellers perspective I don't think I would sell internationally without it because of the risks it helps me to avoid.

  16. I was wondering if you had just forgotten to update your post. That’s surprising, not only because they arrived the same day but also because based on TOTs ours should be done Tuesday. Maybe they will push the order through in a single day for you?
  17. my value fast track sub went to QC this morning. I just checked hoping for a shipping notice but saw that it went back to graded. I am assuming that QC realized that all my books needed a 2 grade bump upwards.

  19. Clearly there are two different camps here. Count me in with the pro MCS group. My experience purchasing and consigning through them has been second to none. On the rare Instance that there has been an issue both Buddy and Conan have been more than fair while demonstrating phenomenal customer service

  21. They are definitely being used. I haven’t noticed the creep factor so not sure if something changed. i hope you are right Bob, I have never had an issue with a GSP sale
  22. I have received quite a few of the slabs without an inner well of late. Not so much for silver books but on the occasional modern sub I put through the majority have no inner well. Thanks Jack, much appreciated and I hope that all is well with you thanks all for the input, it helps quite a bit. I will email Bree on Monday to get her thoughts and talk to the buyer about reaching out to eBay. The fact that this happened internationally makes it more challenging to make him whole.
  23. thanks for the reply, the serial number does match and here is one of the photos from my initial listing. You do see some of the black and yellow striping on the right edge which I can find on other listings but the changes to the top are drastic from the photos.
