    I just saw that a raw SIKTC 1 1st print sold for $700 yesterday. I only have one copy but I’m tempted to let it go.

    Yeah, they’re selling out within a couple of weeks of release. It’s one of the hotter indies around here for sure. And on Bitter Root, it has some local creators working on it so that book has always been kind of hot around here. The early issues (1-3) are pretty much impossible around here since about a year ago.

    Akira 38 is an absolute keeper. I kind of regret selling one of my two copies last year. Highlights from the last few days (I actually found the full run of New Mutants 2003 for $40):

    It was an auction, but looking at other sales from the last few days, it doesn’t appear to be a very extreme outlier. A VF/NM copy sold for 50 today BIN, a few days ago what appears to be a BIN sold for $100 free shipping. Honestly, I wasn’t even aware this was even a $20 book. Last I recall it was like $12-15.

    Not yet, it doesn’t seem. I hope so though, I have a couple 2nd prints as well as 1st. The Dark Avengers Midtown variant hasn’t really gone up but 2nd and 3rd prints have been up for a little while it seems. Also the Djurdjevic 1:20 variant seems to have been pretty high for a week or so.

    I’m happy over this, not because I specced hard on this title but that it’s actually in the hands of an interesting writer in Diablo Cody (Juno, Jennifer’s Body, Tully, Young Adult).

    I hit up a Coliseum location when I was in Orlando last year, and yeah, not a fan. I did find some cool Dan Parent Betty and Veronicas but that was the extent of it. Everything was overpriced.

    I’ll just say I wish I was more knowledgeable and persistent when the 2nd and Charles stores started popping up around here. I was able to pull UXM 129, UXM 266, NM 98, What If 105, and a bunch of other awesome books from their boxes for a dollar within a couple of weeks. No telling what other gold was just waiting in those boxes.
