  1. @spreads -- sorry I posted in the wrong place. Bush league mistake
  2. What is the best standard size box for shipping slabbed books? Thanks!
  3. Sorry -- that should read "PGM Detective 411"....the 'Press and Hold to edit' feature does not seem to be working for me.
  4. Here is the book, back from CGC. Very happy for my $10 investment at the estate sale.
  5. Just got this back from grading --> HAPPY!
  6. Well guys -- finally pulled the trigger and got it graded. I am pretty pleased with the results.
  7. Thanks -- I had to end an auction and send an explanation. You also gave me a start -- I won WWBN 32 (bought that one off the comic stand as well). It does not have a MVS! Thankfully.
  8. Need some harsh feedback -- Marvel Value Stamps I have a Daredevil 131 that I owned as a kid. I have now see that I cut out the Marvel Value Stamp. This is one of those times when I get to face my own stupidity as a youth. Is there are rules of thumb as to the decrease in value? Thanks in advance!
  9. @Bomber-Bob -- I can see you POV! Most of my nice books that I won are actually ones that I bought as a kid off the shelf -- around when I was 11. I like pressing those, because it gets them closer to the state that I bought them in!
  10. Green Lantern #40 -- this is a project. I picked this up from a estate sales. It is pretty nice, BUT the center page is detached -- please see all the pictures and email me any questions. I thought about trying to re-attach staples, but have decided that I will let someone else try. I have asking $5.00 for the comic and $4.50 for shipping. Paypal only please. The first gets it. My only ask is that you send me pictures after you fix it!
  11. NoMan -- to follow up with Bomber-Bob, yes. I have a press that I was able to acquire off Craigslist and its the best investment I have made in comic collecting. There is nothing like getting a book that is 7.0 - 8.0 and pressing it up. Even if you are not going to have it slabbed, I would argue that a pressed book preserves better. There has been studies done by document preservationist that indicate that pressing does not decrease the longevity or durability of document. I am not the guy that will press a new book. I have not seen creases come back, but I can tell you that multiple pressings (2-3) tend to produce the best results. I bought my own press after I saw the results of what pressing can do and did not like paying the cost or waiting time. The guys that press charge a fair (more than fair) price often enough -- I just like pressing my old books. And I am not patient enough to wait the 4-6 weeks on top of the waiting for grading. It is kind of therapeutic -- sorry if that sounds odd. I will say that slabbing a book and not pressing it seems odd to me.
  12. This is a really nice book -- It seems like an easy 7.5 to me, but maybe I not seeing with the other guys are .
  13. Good feedback -- I did the pressing myself -- so that cost and the shipping are not part of the equation. The thicker books have those side staples -- just trying to figure that out. I know that if I do get it graded I will have it pressed and cleaned (by someone other than an enthusiastic amateur)
  14. Wow! That's a nice book! The only thing that I see that would give you a ding is the spine. If you had a tough grader I would say 8.5. Otherwise I would say 9.0 and a stretch 9.2. Beautiful!
  15. PGM Marvel Super Heroes #18 -- before and after I recently picked up a copy on eBay. I have been looking for a while and found one that I thought I could press up. Please take a look and give a grade before and after. Thanks!
  16. Thanks!! I was looking on eBay and could not find a scan of the back cover. Thanks a LOT!!
