  1. You may want to check this thread out from earlier this year in whcih we has a pretty lively debate on Kirby... King Kirby and the Bronze Age: A Period of Decline? Jim
  2. FFB...the Action Man! Seriously...thanks for the test. Now we have a pointer when the question comes up again in three months... Jim
  3. I've never seen one without the pink either... Jim
  4. Gotta like a man with principles... Jim
  5. The story is more sad for the boy than scary. The parents should be ashamed of themselves... Regardless, it is a wonderful short story. Very nice how the story flows from one panel to the next. It really is a great example of Aparo's work...thanks for posting it... Jim
  6. Why's that? Your questions and essays in the Bronze Forum are usually good, thought provoking stuff. May not agree some of the time but appreciate the thought behind the posts... Jim
  7. Both my copies have the pink printing... Jim
  8. You guys had to pay sales tax on comics? Canadians don't pay sales tax? Jim
  9. I read an account in one of the comic pubs years ago...Comics Journal maybe? Jim
  10. Should go down in comics history as the shrewdest business move any comic company has made... Jim
  11. Good luck...are there even Charlton circulation numbers in the Standard Guide? I can recall ever seeing a Statement in a Charlton comic... Jim
  12. Screw that...Ian should self-publish the Ultimate DC Index...why give all the other pubs the glory? He could also humor himself by throwing a couple bogus listings in and see who bites... Jim
  13. Boris Karloff #46 This copy also has a Mark Jewelers insert...it's the nicest GK I've found with one. You usually only see them, when you do at all, in no better than G/VG... Gold Keys are by far the scarcest of all comics with the inserts... Jim
  14. Thought I post some nice Karloff issues that arrived today. This will probably be the last new shipment of back issues, and being able to contribute scans, for quite awhile... Boris Karloff #24 Jim
  15. Blazing Battle Tales #1 - Thorne Cover Jim
  16. Star Spangled War Stories #158 - Kubert Cover Jim
  17. OK...I'll spill the beans...I'm trying to collect a set of comics with Mark Jewelers inserts with all the Marvel Value Stamps intact... Be very very quiet... Jim
  18. So you're getting out of Orleans? You're not being escorted to the city limits by the Sheriff are you? Jim
  19. Massive, absolutely HUGE, kudos to DarthDiesel! The kudos are not only for the professionally packed and promptly delivered 30+ Bronze comics with the Mark Jewelers insert... It's not even for the July 2005 issue of Ladies Home Journal featuring Madonna on the cover that my wife was very, VERY, grateful for... No, the topper was what was lining the bottom of the box...the new Metropolis catalog! Don't know where my personal copy found it way to...probably being used to make paper footballs somewhere in the Frankfurt military mail annex...but this unexpected surprise has made my day! Quality deal from a quality guy...Thanks again, Carl!
  20. One went for around $110 and another, a very VERY nice looking copy advertised by the seller as unread, went for $250...but these sales are almost two years old now and I haven't been as diligent in searching for one in awhile. Jim
