  1. Wow...the microchamber paper really slipped in this slab... Jim
  2. Can't say I've ever seen or heard of a double cover 100 pager... Jim
  3. First...you're right, he doesn't have to disclose the process...but it's good business if he did. I doubt many restorers in other fields wouldn't disclose their processes... But with that said...the Coke analogy doesn't work. He is working on a thing of value to the customer. What he does and doesn't do as well as what he uses to accomplish his work is important to the customer because the item being worked on has a value attached. It's not his to work on in secret (if not owned by him). The customer has every right to know the processes being used because a screw-up, or ignorance on the process due to secrecy, could decrease the value of the item or be a procedure the customer doesn't want done... Jim
  4. This makes more sense than the "trade secrets" argument... Jim
  5. All the Marvels and DCs posted (except Tarzan) were printed within the last 7 years. Germany did reprint DCs (I've seen numerous Superman examples) since at least the late 50s/early 60s. German Marvels weren't reprinted until the early 70s from what I've seen. There is quite the demand, and they go for some serious Euros, for early German DC issues at the local cons... Jim
  6. Sterl... I don't think DC is going to take kindly to their copyrighted stories being posted to the Internet... Jim
  7. Once you have the SGT Rock doll, it's time to get the accessories... Has anyone ever seen one of these? Jim
  8. Well let me know what you're thinking in terms of price...if eBay's the best venue then so be it... Jim
  9. How much for the Avengers #94? Jim
  10. Prove it! Could have last week...will have to wait until Sept... Jim
  11. You're lucky I don't have my second copy with me... Or the Metro undergraded VF/NM HOM #205 I bought a couple years ago... Jim
  12. So, did the whipping feel good? SNAP! "Again, this time with a GIANT-SIZE!" Wiped... Though I may have to consult the wife on further exploratory methods... Jim
  13. I whipped my @ss with a comic...true story... Jim
  14. I like the way Mr. Brennan mentions his name in the one of the speech bubbles on the opening page of the Aardvark story. Very self-referential. Shades of Neil Gaiman... Sterl, just to clear things up re what I meant in that post - T. Casey Brennan has posted 17 times on these Forums. Seven times his post was either a link about some prose he'd written in the '70s or the prose in question reproduced, and once was about a poster featuring his rock band. And NINE times his posts contained either the complete Black Mistress story or The Aardvark story. Or both. Enough already. Agreed...it wasn't that great the first time... Jim
  15. Depends on what you consider his first appearance. Some (including Overstreet) say it's OAAW #81. In G/VG, I'd be thinking $175-$250 range, depending on which way it leans. Myself, I consider Rock's true first appearance to be in OAAW #83. In G/VG, $225-$300. It's a better book, a tougher book to find, a harder book to get in grade because of the black cover. Some might say that's too much - but that's the first appearance of the most successful original DC character of the Silver Age. It's an incredibly important book. I paid $440 for a nice, flat VG+/FN- a few years ago. Never thought twice about it. It's an amazing book, and rarer than hen's teeth in any grade. OAAW #81 is at least twice as common. Hope that helps! Shep I ask because I was at a LCS yesterday that had one (#83) for $110... Jim
  16. What would you all pay for, at best, a G/VG copy of Sgt Rock's 1st appearance? Jim
  17. Distributor ink will "stain" dark covers similar to your #88. I've seen the same thing many times on other comics... Jim
