    Someone wrote "July 8, 1944" at the top of the book. This arrival date would make sense for a Fall 1944 issue. Upon closer inspection, the "P" looks more like a "B" in the name. Here's a scan of the book prior to grading & encapsulation...

    Robot Man, Thanks for the information and this thread. I recently acquired a book that appears to be a "Paul" (fellow boardies pointed this out and directed me toward this thread). It's fascinating to know the story behind the original owner - especially since Paul also grew up in Missouri, and I've driven through Sweet Springs more times that I can count. Here's to Paul!
