  1. Someone wrote "July 8, 1944" at the top of the book. This arrival date would make sense for a Fall 1944 issue. Upon closer inspection, the "P" looks more like a "B" in the name. Here's a scan of the book prior to grading & encapsulation...
  2. Robot Man, Thanks for the information and this thread. I recently acquired a book that appears to be a "Paul" (fellow boardies pointed this out and directed me toward this thread). It's fascinating to know the story behind the original owner - especially since Paul also grew up in Missouri, and I've driven through Sweet Springs more times that I can count. Here's to Paul!
  3. A "Paul" book? I assume there are other "Paul" books?
  4. Very excited to have acquired this scarce beauty!
  5. ComCav, congrats on this awesome book! Rick, my condolences for your loss.
  6. Has anyone ever taken their blood pressure during "extended bidding"?
  7. "The Cheesecake Factory" That should be the title of a thread...
  8. Congrats, Rick! I actually thought of you when I saw that book.
  9. Congratulations are in order for finding that gem! Ogden Whitney is one of my all-time favorite artists. I especially love his work with Undercover Girl.
  10. Well, I just discovered that ImageBam will be shutting down it's services on June 30, which means that every image I've ever posted to the CGC forums will disappear. I will start attaching files directly to the message from now on. Live and learn.
  11. Part of it is the imaging, but I may hold on to both anyway.
