  1. Kick it off with a 9.6 blue label copy of Wolverine (1988) #1. This pressed up from a 9.4, and I really thought it had a great shot at 9.8. So close... Two eBay sales from the 14th went for $75 and $89 shipped, so let's call this one -- $70 --
  2. OK, so there is no title that I'm aware of called Old Mutants. Anyway, I got one sale in the bag today, so let's try to keep it rolling. Necessities first: Payment: In addition to PayPal, I will also accept check/money order/Zelle (which I was just introduced to today!), though the book will be held until clearance. Payment due within 10 business days, none of these are priced high enough to consider time payments. CGC Shipping (domestic): USPS insured priority. Shipping cost is included in the book's price. Raw Shipping (domestic): USPS First class shipping is included in the price. For a single book, upgrade to priority flat rate for $4 extra. Decrease that by a $1 for each additional book purchased, and if you hit 5 total, automatic upgrade to priority flat rate at no additional charge. International Shipping on anything - please inquire first. Returns: No returns on CGC graded books unless I make an error in the listing or fail to disclose a problem. If by chance the USPS goes above and beyond to defeat my packaging and the slab is damaged in transit, prior to doing ANYTHING ELSE, save all the packing material and contact me. USPS regulations have been beefed up to require the packing material being available for inspection (pictures suffice based on experience) in order to file a proper insurance claim. Raws: Returns on raws will be accepted if requested within 7 business days if we have a substantial disagreement on grade/condition, or again if I made a listing error or failed to disclose a flaw. Standard eBay excuses not accepted - my cat arranged this sale, my 9 year old bought this without my permission, my car had a heart attack, my grandmother needs new brakes, etc. On the HoS? Don't bother. Probation list? Message me first and we'll talk about your situation, but don't be overly optimistic. Can provide board references if needed (no name dropping here), and nearing 1700 positive eBay feedback as well -- https://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=792mn First wins outright, offers by PM always welcome. Buy multiple books to potentially set yourself up for a better deal I'll probably be adding throughout the week since the Bears are going to lose in 30 minutes, so I'll take care of what I can before then. Thanks for looking!
  3. Happy Sunday all! For sale here is the always in demand Incredible Hulk 181. Bronze Age grail. 1st full appearance of some guy called Wolverine. Need I say more? Probably not, but I will in a bit. First the necessities: Payment: In addition to PayPal, I will also accept check/money order, though the book will be held until clearance. If paying in full -- due within 10 business days; however, I will also entertain time payments. PM to discuss if you're interested in going the time payment route. Shipping: USPS insured priority (medium flat rate box). Shipping cost is included in the book's price. Returns: No returns on CGC graded books unless I make an error in the listing or fail to disclose a problem. Well from the pics you can clearly see that this one is a blue label 6.5 with white pages. There's two small spots of ink spray on the across the top of the pages, and a small bit got on the top of the front cover (upper right, its tough to see in the photo). When I originally acquired the book, it was advertised as unpressed, and I agree with that assessment. There's several non-color breaking creases that I can see which could certainly be improved by a detail oriented presser. The back cover would likely clean up a little too. Could this go up to a 7.0? Maaaayyybeeee. Two things give me pause -- there's a subtle, but color breaking, roughly 2 inch crease by Wendigo's left leg, and several small color breakers on the edge of the front cover along Hulk's right leg and above his left arm. All that said, this one is a great add to any collection. Looking over eBay and ComicLink data for the past few months, 6.5 sales have generally been in the $2450-$2600 range, a few outliers both lower and higher. I'm going to price toward the lower end as I'd like to move this one quickly to free up cash for other endeavors, so let's call it... -- $2350 -- First outright takes the book home. I will listen to offers, but I'll be upfront and say that my flexibility on the price will be minimal.
  4. An exchange once occurred... Matt - “Mr. Rosa, I’d like to thank you for everything you did for Scrooge and the nephews and Donald...” terse Don Rosa - “Donald Duck was Carl Barks.” Well then, you Don Rosa.
  5. Well the actual titleholder would be my Action Comics 56, but since I don't have a pic handy, here's the runner-up that I just got in hand today... Graciously accepted from @Bunky Brian's recent thread that should have been titled "I have awesome books, give me your money".
  6. One more reason not to use eBay to sell items that are this valuable. Selling on consignment with a reputable dealer gets you the indirect added benefit of said dealer having insurance and lawyers in place to deal with situations like this.
  7. You’ll get a better response by posting this (with photos) in “Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?”
  8. Agreed, not an unreasonable open. But dude loses points for not utilizing the Make an Offer button.
  9. And there’s a chance he already has frequent flyer miles with the local police. Certainly worth making a phone call.
  10. Hope it resolves in your favor, @awakeintheashes. The last four figure sale I risked on eBay was quite acrimonious as well, so for me it’s the boards or consignment with the CLink or the Reece family from now on for anything of even remotely decent FMV. eBay has set itself up to be a thieves paradise.
  11. Agreed. I just keep wondering what Kessler's endgame is, other than getting that $200 grand in prepaid rent back in 2016.
  12. Here we in November, and WIZD keeps drifting in zombie mode. $0.08/share at last check. As of September 30, Kessler had upped his ownership to just under 52 million shares (out of the 70.1 million total that are outstanding). That said, I was pleasantly surprised by the dealer turnout at WW Chicago, much improved from 2018. Not sure how the overall crowd turnout was though, I only attended on Thursday and was not impressed. Good for buyers, not so good for sellers. Win/win would be much preferred. Current schedule for 2020 on their website lists only five shows -- NO, Portland, Cleveland, St. Louis, Chicago (no Philly???). Only New Orleans shows any semblance of a guest list. The decline continues.
  13. Skynet, kav. The hour of reckoning is upon us!
  14. Most every MCU movie you note had multiple prior movies feed into it, as did Dark Knight Rises. Guardians and X-Men are team-centric, so the comparison doesn’t hold. As an outsider, Watchmen, while entertaining, made little sense to me overall due to the dearth of backstory. Leaving Into the Spider-verse, which I didn’t care to see and won’t offer comment on.
  15. It’s a legit question. How often does a smorgasbord cast actually lead to a decent movie?
  16. So will this movie be 9 hours long, or will each character that’s being crammed in be allotted only 4.7 minutes of total screen time apiece?
  17. Ironically, Mr. Self Righteous could have just sent you another offer.
  18. I finally went back and took a look at X Hilltop Factor double cover #1...shame to see that someone overpaid for a pretty clear fraud by $52.99.
  19. Not much longer till Rebel Wilson is cast as Poison Ivy.
  20. I don’t think your being paranoid at all, they keep putting the screws to sellers, so there’s ample reason to suspect they’ll one day start a policy of holding funds hostage by default. Wonder how long they’d give the buyer to give the ok...a week? Two? A month? 90 days? All seem plausible.
  21. “Alfred, I’m going out for a manicure and a perm.”
