  1. In case anyone wants to keep tabs on Mr. Bowles' whereabouts (at least while he's in custody), take a visit to the Cook County inmate locator: https://inmatelocator.ccsheriff.org/
  2. I see about a dozen spine stresses and a spine roll. And that's just on the Web 101...
  3. Today we have an annoyance and a snowflake: First the annoyance -- dsock309 Offered a fair price for Uncanny 267 which I agreed to, and we went back and for a couple times about shipping vs pick-up at C2E2. Backed out before we could finalize everything. Not out anything, just a bit annoyed. Snowflake -- braydeconlo-0 Couldn't even give me a halfway decent story about we he can't come up with $42 to pay for an auction win, just radio silence.
  4. Give the guy a modicum of credit -- most people would evaluate being significantly outbid on two occasions as a sign to up their max bid. But not this guy, he's going to buck capitalism and pester sellers until he can obtain the book he's seeking for 80% less than FMV!
  5. In all seriousness though, how many superhero movies has Fox botched? Would you really expect them to successfully pull off a Godfather-like story with a subplot that could be found in a Sandra Bullock movie?
  6. I know Channing sort of worked on the --script to make it into more of a romantic comedy... Mutant Godfather meets The Proposal? Pass.
  7. The summary sounds a lot like Godfather III. Good thing this movie never happened.
  8. That sounds familiar, if memory serves the stock was also somewhere in the mid $0.20s at the time, sure hope dude didn't follow through for his sake.
  9. Had Wizard World on my mind today, so I took a gander on the interweb... Stock is still dying a slow death, and the only show with guests posted is St. Louis (which is in a few weeks). There's also only seven more shows booked for the rest of this year; seems like they cancelled a few, no? Note that I'm not counting Ghostbusters Fanfest, plus its not exactly rocket surgery putting that guest list together. (Bleep) seems to be getting dismal for Wizard.
  10. The price has actually increased to $1.2 mil. Damn that inflation!
  11. Not saying the Gambit movie would have worked, but how did no one at Fox have the good sense to kill the FF reboot before it had a chance to be made?
  12. I hope Rambo V doesn't turn out to be overkill, the full circle ending of IV was a great way to wrap the series up. As for a 70+ year old Cyberdine model 101 paired with a 60+ Linda Hamilton...I have no idea how this is going to go. They could be battling the latest advanced baddie from the future, or they could be lobbying Congress to shore up Medicare's long term finances. Either way, I'll certainly be watching.
  13. “silly gimmick” = new revenue stream new revenue stream = more staff (?)
  14. What if it co-stars...dare I say....CHUCK NORRIS!!??!? Make it rain, yo!!! (and thanks to MCS for the stock photo)
  15. Translation - admire my middling collection of books from the '90s while doing all the legwork for me on the suggestions that you've made. Go team!
  16. That probably helps keep the Stan Lee forgers in business.
  17. He has provided a decent venue for entertainment, especially since Gabe is MIA. The shtick will only carry for so long though. Eight weeks from now he'll probably be posting his gem mint +++ 6.5 copy of Wolverine #68 because Epsilon Red is about to be played by Mickey Rooney in the next chapter of the Lord of the Rings franchise, and books are about to skyrocket. There will be a collective from the rest of the board in response.
  18. If fraud is the under lying motivation in this listing, I think dude should go all out: "CGC NG explained - CGC reserves the NG grade for only the most stellar books on the market, those that are so pristine they don't fit on the traditional 10 point scale. This copy could potentially be worth millions to the lucky buyer, but I'm forced to let it go at what will likely be a substantial loss because my truck ran away with my barber and I need money to repair my wife's broken rear axle. My loss is your gain!"
  19. @BITCOINSWAMI @BITCOINSWAMI @BITCOINSWAMI 🤞
  20. It certainly looks like an index fingernail's worth of the bottom is missing. However, using oldrover's situation, there is a possibility that the seller was also unaware of this (what we believe to be) trimming. It could be educational to the seller to mention this without making it an accusation.
  21. I’m not your bro, don’t pretend I have the least bit of respect for you. Actually you have. Do we need to revisit the Carnage incident? I hear people also like Star Trek, you should buy that too. First apperence only of course.
  22. I hear Star Wars is a thing. You should buy a bunch of those.
