  1. Sounds legit. Now all I need is a TV...
  2. Indeed, of the rare “printing error variant” no less.
  3. Haven’t you been out lately? That’s the going rate for the finest boxed wine that Franzia offers.
  4. Solid thinking there. I keep hoping they'll separate Chicago from the rest of Illinois and form it into the 51st state. Heck, based on where I live now, I'd cede everything within the area bounded by 294 (including the stretch up to the Wisconsin border after it merges with 94) and Lake Michigan to the newly created state of Chicagois. I haven't really focused grouped that name yet.
  5. I went ahead and reported all of his "Stan Lee" items. Has anyone invited him here to defend himself? That could prove epic...
  6. They probably changed it because they've been caught authenticating bogus Ditko, Kirby, and Lee signatures in the past (see the start of this page). PGX didn't suddenly grow a conscience, they're probably taking some sage advice from their corporate lawyer/pizza guy.
  7. I think the problem is you only put "coverless" in the title and description. Had you superimposed a big COVERLESS!!! watermark over the photo, then maybe, just maybe homeboy would have realized the book was actually coverless. And I thought it was bad when people couldn't read "second print" or "third print"...
  8. His pictures are of Stan signing a GSX1 and a She Hulk 1. Just reading the descriptions on his auctions you know that he’s full of . And 15 free autographs from Stan Lee? Even in 2012 that’s nonsensical.
  9. The only store I can think of that is further south would be Graham's Plainfield location, and that's closer to Joliet than Bolingbrook. Woodridge Chimera's definitely had a large potential customer base lurking in the suburbs east of Naperville and south of Downers, but they obviously didn't capitalize. Makes you wonder even more, on top of all the good reasons already given in this thread to avoid the Oak Lawn "giveaway", what is Chimera's reputation in general amongst collectors in Chicago and the suburbs, and is it a reputation you'd want to inherit?
  10. I BUYED THIS GEM MINT+ COPY AND DID I GET RIPED OFF????
  11. The Woodridge location most assuredly had potential considering Hollywood Boulevard was practically next door. Mom and/or dad has a few during a showing of the latest superhero movie to hit big screen, then they walk out at the end and the kids say "Oh look, a comic shop! Let's go!" Heck, there's probably plenty of unaccompanied adults that would have had some 16 ounce sized spending inspiration. Execution on the concept must have been poor (I never bothered to visit that location, so I'm just speculating).
  12. I got some double oaked Woodford in the cabinet...
  13. One Stop is in Oak Park, the Chimera store is in Oak Lawn. They’re nowhere near each other.
  14. Chimera’s used to have a third location in Woodridge, IL, but it has since closed. Probably didn’t help that Graham Crackers has four stores in that same vicinity. Wonder if the Oak Lawn giveaway correlates. I haven’t been to any of Chimera’s locations in years, but I always found their back issue selection to be severely lacking.
  15. Further proof that thrill bidding losers come at all feedback levels -- cyclocross13 (977 positive, member since 1998) Won a book for a couple hundred bucks (was high bidder for roughly two days), asked to cancel an hour after auction close. I refused and said I'd go through NPB, to which he responded he'd pay and leave negative feedback. He did pay this morning, and I was ready to take him to task but ultimately didn't want the hassle, especially with the risk of getting a German phone book returned to me after a chargeback attempt. Payment refunded, order cancelled, feedback extortion reported to eBay.
  16. Unacceptable. Me and the cat are going to reclaim that top spot with a Saturday night bidding spree.
  17. Guy is definitely full of it. You don't supposedly freeze all of your "hacked" accounts, then turn around the very next day and pay for an eBay item that you supposedly didn't bid on. Did the guy forget he had thrill bidder's remorse from one day to the next? Did he develop thrill bidder's remorse remorse? Regardless, hopefully this clown doesn't cause you much heartburn Rich.
  18. But you guys forget - @BITCOINSWAMI is outsmarting the market by buying 9.2s instead of 9.8s...
