  1. @James J Johnson What do you think of his not Greg Land: vs
  2. FFS, every Stan signature this guy has listed looks the EXACT SAME. That's a dead giveaway by itself.
  3. I've said it in another thread too -- I just hope none of these are ending up under the Christmas trees of unsuspecting young comic fans, courtesy of a Santa that's trying to cheap out and save a few bucks.
  4. dave974 Not quite a superstar forgery seller, but his products are comically bad. Subsequent note -- delicious pun not intended.
  5. I'll let you try to win back that $100 trillion Zimbabwe on my next bookmaking endeavor.
  6. Hmmm...I only keep a $50 billion in my wallet for emergencies, might not have enough on hand to cover the pay out. We'll cross that bridge if we get there...
  7. Probably for the best since s/he might show up just to spite my bookmaking. So what you should really do is put a 10 spot on the flip side, which would probably work out to about +325 that s/he actually shows up.
  8. "I don't know about the boards, my girl knows the boards, I'll message you from the boards, I am not Spock, I am Spock, I am also Scotty..." I'll handicap "too cowardly" at -450 odds.
  9. A bonafide steal at $25 grand!!! -- https://www.ebay.com/itm/stan-lee-signed-cgc-comic-xmen/153298343860?hash=item23b14b17b4:g:M6MAAOSwSxRb6dXE
  10. Per eBay policy, you were actually in the wrong for not capitulating to the buyer's every demand... Seriously though, that guy. "dabears". How cute. Go back to 1992, loser.
  11. If I had any of that hot movie craze books to sell, I'd definitely be cashing them in. As much as I like my collection, there's no way I'd say any book is totally, completely, 100% not for sale at any price.
  12. In so many words - this could be 2018's Bitcoin. Massive short term run up, followed by an equally precipitous fall.
  13. Only 50k? If the 9.6 went for over 30 grand and there’s only one 9.8 out there, I’d wager the 9.8 will break six figures on the current hype train.
  14. Sounds like a “9.9 MINT UNCIRCULATED!!!!!” for eBay...
  15. Whoever is holding that 9.8 should cash it in while the gettin’ is good.
  16. I see he's also ventured into the realm of uncertified "Stan Lee" signatures. Mostly on garbage, but there's actually a NM 98 and Star Wars #1 being peddled in the group too.
  17. Simple - you pay more. Stan’s handlers (i.e. Max) would’ve let Stan sign and sketch anything just as long as the customer paid accordingly. 10 signatures on one book? Each a different color? Sure! That’ll be 2 grand. And you have to provide the sharpies.
  18. I was thinking more like "Stu Tis". Even the poor signatures that Stan was churning out in 2018 look more like his actual signature than any of the jokes that dave974 is peddling. You hate to say forgery mills make money at all, but @kav is right that anyone falling for something like this deserves to lose their money. You just have to hope these aren't ending up under the Christmas tree of any young comic fans from a Santa who tried to save a few bucks.
  19. Might by my favorite Stan Lee fake yet from eBay seller dave974:
  20. I'm no ASM expert, but I'm pretty sure that's an MJ quote. But why should facts stand in the way of a good old fashioned gouging?
  21. This right here. Honestly the fees don't bug me all that much since 10% is relatively standard. But I'll never sell a high dollar book on eBay as long as their current policy of "Buyer first, buyer second, buyer third. What sellers?" still exists. There's too many horror stories about successful eBay return scams floating around out there. I've personally never experienced one, but even with the relatively lower dollar books I sell, I'm still anticipating one day getting a complaint about a scratched case and then receiving a phone book from Boise, ID in return. The good stuff always gets consigned to a trusted third party.
