  1. Action 1 is a reprint, without a doubt.... This thread has grown too large for me to do forensics, but I thought the hulk 1 was confirmed to be a legit coverless copy...but with a replica cover?
  2. Love it when people say "all due respect" right before expressing disrespect. I'd caution you on making assumptions... Regardless, I'm thrilled you found joy in my failed pursuit.
  3. False alarm. Deal isn’t going to happen. Thanks to all just the same...
  4. Thanks. Sweet...same cost more value. Probably just trying to get people hooked. I suspect that business might be struggling to takeoff...
  5. the credit has zero transparency, but it always gets applied... they give you a free shipping kit with memberships now? Do tell...
  6. I’m not jumping to any conclusions...I need more info to make a judgement.
  7. Completely non-confrontational observation. My girlfriend, who is younger and in her late 20’s, puts the $ after the numbers instead of in front. It’s trivial but for some reason drives me bonkers! $100....100$ I must be getting old.
  8. Right off the bat after looking again the down with crime 7 popped at me. There's probably more...digging in now...
  9. I asked for it lol... Alright alright, time to take a closer look... I was looking to be spoon fed...
  10. Not exactly this thread's purpose but closest thing to without starting a new thread in the general or gold sections. Working with a seller and these are the pics I have...assume low grade. Bunch of cool books, but nothing especially valuable jumps out at me. Then again, I'm not good at deciphering portions of books from a distance... Tempted to make an offer on the lot, but volume isn't my thing. Appears to be a bunch of <$100 books... Any of you folks spot something?
  11. Found one more for you fine folks. Pics will be posted right after text (from phone). Weird Mysteries #10; VG-; SOLD 2020 sales starting with most recent: 3.0 $550, 5.0 $685, 5.0 $885. Book has a big bend throughout, 1.5" tear front cover, cover creases bottom right, moderate rust on staples, tiny tear top back cover (still there and I unfolded it when I placed back in bag), general wear, and an awesome Feb 12, 1954 date stamp. Book would def. benefit from a press and has VG potential. Presents great for grade... Cover by Bernard Baily. Stories and art by Sal Trapani and Eugene E. Hughes. Pre-Code tales of horror from Stanley Morse Publications. A couple buys werewolf and vampire costumes from a strange shop for Halloween, but the costumes become their real identities. An aging scientist discovers how to put his mind into a younger body, but he chooses the wrong body. A jeweler sells and resells a cursed ring that makes its wearers the targets of a vampire. Trick or Treat; The Ruby; To the Bitter End; Eternal Death; Vengeance in Death; A Better Mouse Trap. 32 pages, Full Color.
  12. And now everyone should have a rough idea of my age...
  13. I tried to find the old CGC shipping instructions so I could forward to him, but I think they replaced it with an advertisement for their new shipping "kits". I couldn't believe it...or maybe I just wasn't looking in the right place. I thought it was in their FAQ... And no, he's most certainly not on these boards. Just a "found some comics in an attic" guy...
  14. Tend to agree... BUT it would have been loose. I honestly thought he was going to take my suggestion and then insert in his impressively foamed box. Oh well, it survived.
  15. To his defense he knew nothing about comics. He originally sent me this pic to demonstrate the nice packing he was doing, but I expressed concern about it being loose (free to jostle left and right, potentially damaging corners). I recommended a bag and the sandwiching technique. I probably should have left it alone, not sure which would have been worse... He tried...
  16. Got this in the mail...yes, you are seeing a raw book (no bag) sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard, and the non-spine end of the book resting against (slightly adhered to) the packing tape. My heart sank when I saw it but with my trusty utility knife, and taking my time, I was able to avoid damage. That’s not to say damage didn’t occur during shipping though, but if any did it was minor (I suspect cover scuffs from no bag). Good thing it wasn’t high grade...
