  1. Perhaps I'm victim of the "Fallacy of One." And I'm not a buyer of this book at any price. But for me, presuming there was one auction that priced a book I like 10K over all prior sales, I'm simply not using the one sale to set the new market value.
  2. I'm fond of the Fagaly covers. He rarely misses.
  3. That just blew my theory. Perhaps I'm applying a "rationale market" approach. There could be outliers - like a super wealthy boxer or something, that are willing to pay whatever regardless of future potential. That's why likely if this came up for sale again, many buyers would treat it as an outlier and discount this sales price (imo).
  4. Could it be as simple as with services like GPA and GoCollect, or feeBay history folks who buy big books reference the historic data and are only interested in bidding some increment amount higher. If a book is rare, that increment gets added to the prior sale which maybe was 10 years ago. Whereas if that book sells more frequently, that increment gets repeated many times over in even in a year. On the other hand, it feels like a book that suffers an incremental downturn becomes a pariah that can stigmatize it which lasts maybe a decade or two.
  5. Good to know, I've built up a little order and was just about to ask if its safe to go back into the water again.
  6. Going to close up this thread. These books will go up on feeBay late tonight. Based on my limited experience with feeBay, I've always found best to have a few "traffic" generators - so I've added another 5 books. One is already listed (a post-camp Okajima). The others are some GGA Ace Comics, another choice Wilbur. I've also always found best to have low starting bids. So even if you just like to track results, please find me on feeBay under seller path21.
  7. Mile High on HA seem to be doing very well? I guess I could take the time to track a few and come up with various ratios, would be a cool project. I had an opportunity that I jumped on to get a Crowley the other day, thought I got a mega deal lol. I've gotten so used to the Okajima multiple that its kind of distorted my perceptions.
  8. I'm putting that at about 5x Overstreet guide. I know everyone has there own way of tracking things, and I know everyone has various faults with Overstreet. But I'm tracking the camp Okajima's vs. guide. With 2017 and 2018 public known sales, frankly I don't see a huge differential between the "war" books and straight camp Okajima. The gross sales prices is way higher for war covers, but so is the underlying Overstreet value. I have war covers median multiple to Overstreet is at 6x, and the median non-war camp book is 5.5x. Two outliers were the Boy 16 (16.5x) and a Target Vol. 5 #3 (14.6x) - both non-war. A: Am I looking at this wrong? B: How do these multiples compare to other pedigrees? I was looking at Crowley copies on HA, they don't seem to get any multiple?
  9. I think what telerites might of meant was location - would they be called Gila River or Fresno?
  10. mmmm... no? But how about a baseball bat on the cover, jersey and brightly colored target circles? Still too many good books left here - I refuse to give up on thread just yet. Take 15% off remaining books. Still out of line? Make offers Sports Thrills #11 5.0 $75 Great cover by one of the masters, LB Cole
  11. Still some cool stuff available: Roy Campanella #1 (nice sports history - seems to be sought after book) Sports Thrills (nice bright LB Cole cover) Superman #10 - 82% of its there! Wilbur #2 (hardly ever see one for sale) Baffling Mysteries (its baffling me no one has made an offer on this spooky GGA?) Entire list updated on page 1 - open to offers - save 'em from the feeBay.

  13. Funny Robot Man, I got tired or waiting for a coverless copy. Never ran accross another with cover either, for that matter.

  16. Can anyone shed some light on Steve Barghusen and what he contributed to comic collecting?
  17. Willie Comics #15 Willie Comics #19 Wilbur Comics #41 SOLD to Robot Man - there he is! Wondering where you where.
  18. Wonder Woman #134 3.0 $20 SOLD Silver age beauty of the Queen of Comics.
  19. Women Outlaws M. S. Dist., # 0 $30 SOLD Headlights. Women Outlaws #0 is a bit of an oddity. There is no issue number on cover and no publication date or copyright notice inside. Further, the cover was also used for Women Outlaws #7, but the inside content is from Cody of the Pony Express #7. Adding to the strangeness, two ad pages on pages 33 and 34 are identical and the Cody story starts on page 2 but the comic is a complete 36-pages.
  20. Willie Comics #19 2.5 $20 cfo (centerfold loose) SOLD Porch wing, moon. Lovin' it.
  21. Willie Comics #15 Missing centerfold. $50 SOLD If this book showed up for sale as much as Cindy #37, it would be Cindy #37 prices (imo). But it dosen't . In fact, it never shows up - so prices don't explode past $2K. You can have one of the greatest GGA covers (imo) for a pittance.
