  1. I've had a somewhat similar experience (but different field) happen recently.  In late 2019, my veterinarian (of 24 years) told me her practice would be under "new management"  come 2020. When I asked her what that meant, she said she decided to sell the business to a company which would allow her more time to deal with pet care and not have to worry about the business side of things.  Flash forward to January 2021.  After bringing one of my dogs in for treatment, said vet told me she hated the place, selling the practice was a huge mistake, and that she was going to retire in May (which she did).

The practice has since been renamed and where there three vets at one time, there is now only one.  And she is not full-time.  One of my dogs has been vomiting off and on.  I called them today and asked if could get someone to check out my pooch.  The receptionist told me there were no vets on duty today and that she would have to call me back tomorrow regarding availability. Either that, or take my dog to the local pet ER clinic.  Oh and the vet that stayed, she's not back until 7/13 and she's already booked up.

Time to find a new vet clinic.

Then I see the e-mail today about CCG being bought out.  A coincidence?  Most certainly.  I certainly hope history doesn't repeat itself here.

An empty box is the same as a mailer. For a box to be effective it has to be FULL of packing materials. Can't tell you how many boxes I get, with books just flopping away in the empty cavern, because the submitter couldn't be bothered to even add newspaper to keep the box from getting crushed.

I bet the folks at CGC who open packages have some horror stories to tell!

The deadline date is June 14. There was an error in the date originally displaying in that graphic but has since been changed to June 14. If you still see June 12 in the graphic, please refresh your screen and you will see the change.

    Great - thank you, Dena!

  4. Hi,

I would just like to confirm the 2021 CGC Awards deadline date?  In the initial announcement ...

    https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/8901/2021-CGC-registry-awards/

The copy says June 14th (a Monday).  However the accompanying picture shows June 12th (a Saturday).  In addition, one of the Registry Administrators also says June 12th in this post ...

    Thank you.

    Good morning,

Thanks for your message.  Unfortunately, there is no way on the customer's side to enter that updated information.  You can contact our accounting department at 877-662-6642 or by email at accounting@cgccomics.com to make those updates.

    Thanks!

No offense but for security purposes, I would not put my credit card info into an e-mail.  Calling accounting directly is your safest bet.

  7. Hi,

The above mentioned doesn't seem to be working.  I had two orders (CGC3567537398 and CGC5290124517) delivered by USPS under one package on 4/6/21.  However the new Confirm Package Receipt tool tells me otherwise (please see attached screen shots).

    Please advise - thank you.

I’m sure this has been discussed in this thread before but has anybody else’s books been sitting in limbo once tracking shows package delivered? I sent a priority box literally 3 weeks ago. Says delivered.  They still haven’t even marked them as received.  I have some valuable books in that box and it’s pretty stressful wondering if they’re ok. It’s getting pretty ridiculous.

I can empathize.  I have a Reholder submission (3 slabs) which was delivered to CGC (USPS) on 2/11/21.  It wasn't marked Received until 3/4/21.  As of this writing (4/12/21), it's sitting in G/C.

    Good morning,

The census is usually updated once a week, unless there is an issue with the system, then it can sometimes take a bit longer.

    Thanks!

    Hi Jennifer,

The census did not update today.  It still shows last update as 3/30/2021.  Thank you.

The conspiracy theorist in me wants to convince me that CGC is doing all this 'delivered/received' bs on purpose in order to not raise the TATs too much, but the TATs are already pretty high, so I'm sticking with 'incompetence'.

On 3/12, CGC released an 'update' on TAT's and that steps were being taken to reduce TAT's.  It's now 3/28 and things are still as bad as they were around 3/12.  Talk about Fake News.

Lately, CGC has been harsher on color rub compared to previous years. A lot of the modern books are made with such poor printing materials, that brand new books have color loss that occurs in regular shipping.

Hie much of a ding is the unknown.

Any Modern I've sent in to be graded with even a microscopic print rub has always come back 9.6.  The worst for print rubs are books with a black background on the back cover.

I have an Amazing Spider-Man: Venom Inc Alpha #1, Fried Pie Variant Edition.  Is there already a set for this book?  If there is, could you lead me in the right direction?

Hi. You'll find a slot for your book in the Amazing Spider-Man One-Shots set

This submission was delivered, via UPS 2/19 (https://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/processInputRequest?loc=en_US&TypeOfInquiryNumber=T&InquiryNumber=1Z6559920348818871&Requester=WS/trackdetails).  This was marked received today.

I have another 5 modern, regular grading, that was delivered to CGC on 2/9 (https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction!input.action?tLabels=9405503699300258703462), via USPS and has yet to be received.

UPS from here on out, no argument.

Gotcha - thanks.  I had 3 Reholders delivered to CGC (USPS) on 2/4 and as of this writing the submission still hasn't been marked as received.

    Yes, UPS it is!
