    Nice solid looking book, man do I wish CGC would just note the slight resto and make every label blue, imho its just awful how the color of a label effects the price of a book like this. Its pure market manipulation BS that we/I and an entire generation have bought into imho.

    THOR 337 1st Beta Ray Bill Canadian variant: Simonson's Thor run is among one of the best of the copper age imho & I have been after this for a few years & could never find the right book at the right price, there are 9.8s and there are 9.8s and the 75cent newsstand white cover is wicked tuff with sharp corners.

    Really it's just not TMNT a lot of books are way up this year, I also think people have realized that 1st prints are in demand and the supple is low.

    There is also the " at least I am in the game" aspect that I have seen happen many times over the years ( mostly by newer collectors), ie TMNT 1st print has now gotten to the point where its beyond the price point for a lot of collectors, so they find an alternative key of the same title or series,. The problem with that is the reason TMNT 1st print is where its at is because of the low print run, even in the 1980s it was not an easy book to find & even harder in VF/NM 8.5-9.8 ( which seems to be the line) as there are a lot more copies in lower grade imho. ( I don't know the census data but its just my observation over the years as I have seen a lot more lower grade 1st prints, quite a few with signatures and original art)

    Tuff call all the way around, seller has a stand up rep. However I think the consensus is his response was really awful. I was surprised that it came from this seller as I have always thought of him as one of the stand up sellers on our forum, I think I even bought a AF 15 from him a few years ago. Honestly, if I/you were the buyer I/you would not be happy. Then to see the HA sale I/you would feel even worse. It may not effect the sellers future sales here on the boards ( he sells great books). In my opinion its just bad business to do on a forum that you sell on often & have made a lot of money on over the years. I am sure a little private communication between the two of them could resolve the matter in a positive way.

    While an argument can be made that Superman may not technically be the FIRST comic Superhero I don't think there is any argument he is the first real MEGA Superstar of the medium & the impact Action 1 had on the then fledgling industry can never be disputed. I do think it's fair to say for the past 50+ years ( 1966 TV show, 1986 Miller DK, 1989 movie.........) he has not been as popular as THE BATMAN. So while Tec 27s place in pop culture history is secure and will remain the personal preference of many fans for decades to come It's my personal opinion Action Comics # 1 will never be overtaken grade for grade by any other comic.

    DC WHAT IF? Let's assume this book taps out at or around the same as last weeks TEC 27 at 1.5 Mil ( Which may be a stretch imho). WHAT IF you could pick just ONE of them. What book do you take? Please don't say Action #1, Whiz #2 or Dumbo #0 Nothing else is on the table. I am torn but I go for the Batman # 1 it's just amazing and might be the best damn comic I have ever seen! WOW!
