  1. Yup, I even cherish the memories of being caught by my grandfather at midnight. It was worth it because boobs.
  2. Those days are definitely over. Family event night was exciting. People came running from the bathroom when they heard the theme song.
  3. I laugh at this because its completely unnecessary. You can’t improve upon Mann’s perfect vision. I guess I’m still watching it though.
  4. Why can’t they just make a suspenseful booby trapped mansion series? How hard is that? The mansion was the star of the f’n original game. A series could still take some liberties like have a larger team enter and for the first five episodes, have them get knocked off one by one by traps and creatures. Then move to different parts of the grounds and eventually to the labs. The fact that we’ve never seen a shark in a Resident Evil movie is a fail. I’m twenty minutes in to this new series and struggling.
  5. Forget a movie, this would be better suited as a series on HBO or Netflix. Maybe AppleTV. (They just put out a great in-house Dino doc with better CGI than the last Jurassic World movie). It would have to be a streamer that can put up the cash. It probably hasn’t been considered because this would be an expensive endeavor. The CGI tech is there now where they can pull this off without the Syfi channel vibes. But our economy is not. Not the best time for any streaming service to take any big risks. I mean they were even considering Bone as a series and that was passed over. Xenozoic Tales should absolutely be made once the world reaches some stability again.
  6. All I can say is this better not suck. I had high hopes for The Predator. Imagine the pitch. We are getting Shane Black who was a commando in the original movie. Then he went on to write Lethal Weapon 1 and 2 and The Last Boy Scout. Now he’s returning and is gonna deliver the best Predator since Predator. But isn’t this the guy that wrote and directed Iron Man 3? SHUT UP, The Predator is going to be great! And now, here we are. On Hulu.
  7. Why Zombie decided to make this instead of Tyrannosaurus Rex is beyond me. I was really looking forward to that grindhouse flick.
  8. For anyone that hasn’t seen it, here’s a good scene.
  9. I tried watching Top Gun again recently and just couldn’t. It was definitely a product for its time. I didn’t think I would enjoy Maverick as much as I did. And come on, in real life, a mission like that wouldn’t have flown without at least one Star Wars joke. But man they pulled off some great aerial effects. I felt like a kid again watching Firefox or Blue Thunder. Flight of the Intruder comes to mind as well since they pulled off Top Gun action without the cheese.
  10. I gotta stop watching interviews with Tahiti Wifi. He’s starting to get annoying with the whole facade.
  11. I liked the 80’s better when the only people that knew about celebrities private lives were women buying Star magazine at the grocery stores.
  12. I guess it just depends on your situation since physical copies have limitations. I have built up a large collection on iTunes from their weekly $4.99 sales. I have been traveling for work for over 20 years and so buying digitally makes sense for my family. And me of course since I have access to my library on the go. For instance, I purchased Unforgiven last night on iTunes for $4.99. I am sharing my purchases on a Family plan. My family (including my father) are located in different countries and states. But they all automatically had access to that film the moment I bought it. The other benefit is that HD movie releases in my purchased library are being upgraded to 4K copies at no additional cost when those movies get a 4K release. Physical media may be king but are you going to keep buying upgrades for your favorite films? From DVD to Blu-ray and now we have Ultra HD Blu-ray for 4K. I also have a list of my collection so I’ve been tracking to see if anything gets pulled. What I’ve learned is this. I’ve never lost a single iTunes movie despite hearing reports of others having lost them from their collections. Usually, its because they have moved and are trying to access their purchased films in a different countries iTunes Store. A VPN fixes that. Interestingly enough, I have seen movies pulled from the iTunes Store that I purchased. They are no longer available to buy. But its still there in my cloud purchase and I am able to download and watch it. Years later. Does that mean it will be there in another ten years from now, who knows? I have both physical media and digital as there are clearly benefits to both. Most of my physical media are simply not available for digital purchase. 80’s movies like The Manhattan Project and To Live and Die in LA along with many others.
  13. You don’t truly own any digital movies, music, ebooks, audiobooks etc. etc. despite purchasing them. I have hundreds of novels downloaded to my Kindle Oasis and over time I realized that some books simply disappeared while others were edited without my knowledge. This was disheartening to me due to the investment I made in my digital library so I decided to brick that Kindle. I took it offline and its in permanent airplane mode. I haven’t lost a single book since. While connected they have the ability to reach out and take what they want when rights change. My Kindle was cheap enough for me to brick compared to the cost of all the content that was stored on it.
  14. Well, got my copy when it drops but I’m concerned that it says HD instead of 4k and no mention of Justice is Gray. It also says, Preorder contents are subject to change. We’ll see.
  15. I keep hoping Ezra wakes up to this. One can hope.
  16. Will never happen. Thats not Nolans style. He did the trilogy he wanted and moved on. I mean I would LOVE to see a 4th Nolan Batman but it just ain’t happening.
  17. They may not have mentioned it but its Iran. Why? Because Iran.
  18. For me its a little different. I’m not a fan of all of the MCU’s forced humor however I liked it in Thor Ragnarok.
  19. This is a movie I don’t want and yet I’ll go see it so I can troll it online when it sucks and pales in comparison to the original. Michael Bay is probably dropping a hundred million into this abomination when they could just pay the original crew of Raid 1 ten grand and supply them with a new camcorder to make The Raid 3 and it would be better than what Hollywood plans on doing with it.
  20. If you saw the original as a teenager (as I did) then regardless of your taste in movies, this new one is required nostalgic viewing. And its pretty good in that regard. As an action movie, the aerial sequences during training were amazing. Better than the actual combat mission at the end.
