    I’m not going to knock it, its your list. I just never liked the AVP stuff.

    No one called it cinema. No one’s comparing it to The Godfather. It was dumb fun and arguably the second best Predator movie. Maybe tied with Predators. I think I only read one person here saying they liked it better than the original. Quit being a drama queen.

    I’ve given this movie a lot of praise even though the story is a tired retread. Connelly’s role was a throwaway one. Take away Cruise and what’s left? Just the FX. But this works because of Cruise and nostalgia. Its simple, its basic and just plain fun. Nobody is talking about the original story. They are just saying, “Man it was cool! Jets!” That said, I thought it was the most fun I spent in a theater in the past couple years.

    This show really surprised me. My wife and daughters loved it as well. Hope there is another season coming.

    As much as I loved Maverick, I had way more fun seeing this one in the theater.

    Yeah, that would be incredibly hard to adapt correctly. Directors would want to add their own thing or reinterpret the symbolism. Probably even change the ending. This would have to be adapted literally like 300 was page by page. So Zack Snyder would be the man to do it.

    Despite the cool visuals of the films, they messed up the continuity. Sin City would be better served as a series with each season hitting one storyline. They could even add the one-shots as bonus episodes. But they will never top Mickey Rourke in casting. That was perfection.

    I thought the Hughes brothers film did a fantastic job representing the GN considering the two hour run time. A series could really expand it but they better keep the brutality in your face as fans would not want a watered down version of the GN.

    Two ways this plays out since its received the highest RT and Metacritic scores with glowing reviews. They may want to go Hollywood big again with the next one and deliver a turd like The Predator. Or they could be smart and give us another similar indi-like picture with a higher budget for CGI. A good chase movie like Apocalypto or Mad Max Fury Road is always fun. Try to be innovative but also keep it at its simple core roots.

    I would have loved an actual Comanche version. Would have preferred that. I think it would have really changed the tone. But I get that it would have cost more money. And the budget was already stretched as you can tell by the animal CGI. I mean I loved the bear fight, and it was a good effort being done in daylight but it was rough around the edges. They focused on the Predator camouflage and that was flawless.

    Yes they were a little heavy handed with that trope. The story would have been fine if not better if she was simply treated as an equal in the tribe with past hunting experience. However, despite my issues there, I let it go because of the battle with the French and the finale. And the creature design. Best looking Predator period. Plus he had a sixteen-pack. Must have a gym on board his ship.

    A little joke does not detract from his serious accusations with minors. If it does, those folks should prioritize better. Plus I’m insensitive towards any group that is sensitive about something.

    This is a series thats nearly impossible to adapt in any meaningful way. It lives in my head off the pages. Something I never thought I would get into and yet couldn’t stop reading. The movie didn’t work but I loved the casting of Freeman. Here’s hoping the hulu series will be worthwhile.

    I think there’s a lot of us that want to see Flash for Batman. Or Batmen. I’ll wait for reviews out there and in here to decide whether its a theater event or a bootleg event.
