  1. I haven’t seen the movie yet but I’m not sure where they could have gone with it. It’s inspiration is the Zodiac Killer so its very rooted in real world evil. Or maybe something more faithful?
  2. I really liked Avatar when I walked out of the theater but upon second viewing at home later realized how terrible it was as a movie. And I don’t care about the whole ripping off Dances with Wolves storyline. The movie was great at tricking me into thinking it was good. I could write a book about all that is wrong with this. And to make matters worse, its from James F’n Cameron who made three of my favorite movies: The Terminator, Aliens and The Abyss (Directors Cut only).
  3. They don’t just make money. They make many many monies.
  4. When my wife says, “We haven’t watched 300 in a while, want to watch 300 tonight?”
  5. Update: Ken Kelly has stopped responding to me in regard to my Frazetta recreation. If anyone has any experience with artists taking your money and not delivering, please PM me. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1773237
  6. I loved early Futurama, there were several episodes that really surprised me. The bee sting episode is still with me along with this one.
  7. I saw an article today on buzzfeed about 300 (Apple News points me to tons of useless info). But I had no idea Fassbender was one of the 300.
  8. Throw on some decent headphones and listen to this concert and it will stir up some emotions in you. Unless you’re dead inside. I HATE going to the gym but this track gets me in there. My gym playlist includes a lot of Zimmer including The Dark Knight, Gladiator and Black Hawk Down.
  9. How all of us band nerds in high school imagined ourselves. Hot girls everywhere, some Viking rocking an electric guitar solo and Hans Zimmer literally has a cocktail shaker on his piano.
  10. Who does that? The balls on this guy. That would be like me scrolling through social media to find my former boss tweeting that I’m coming back to work for him and to quit whatever job I currently have by the end of the year. Ok maybe its nothing like that. FU.
  11. I haven’t been able to watch Peacemaker yet, I’m just not a John Cena fan. I’ll give it a go. Love Doom Patrol.
  12. Oh God thats a horrible little doll. And with pen*s arms?
  13. One thing I forgot to comment on and I forget who said it (it may have been several posters). Complaints that DC can’t create a shared universe (which I agree with, they haven’t succeeded there). But I never really cared all that much about it. The main takeaway was all the different Batmen. I’m actually very good with that. I loved Keaton’s Batman when I saw it in the theater in 89. And I loved Nolans Batman. I loved Snyders Batman. Finally my favorite version of him was done for the screen. Frank Millers take. I would like to continue seeing Batman in different iterations like James Bond. See what new directors and new actors can bring to the character.
  14. This statement clearly shows your bias. Read it again yourself. Anyone who disagrees has sympathy for him. Can’t be any other reason. That alone shows there’s no reasoning with you on the topic. Ironic that you mention assessing the situation objectively. The main reason his child’s death has been brought up here was to explain why he had to walk away from filming Justice League.
  15. Wow, what did Snyder do to you? I really don’t care, he’s made some great movies and he’s made some bad movies.
  16. This is the year I crack down on my services. I have way too many streaming platform subscriptions and more than half of them are getting the axe. Last year was the best time to have HBOMAX for all those theatrical releases that hit the platform on the same day or close to it. But that looks like it will start to go away so HBO is probably out. Disney will get the axe for sure just because I already own most of the Disney, Marvel and Star Wars catalog. Netflix is staying for now as is Amazon Prime just because I need that free shipping. STARZ and Paramount+ have already been axed. I’m on the fence about Hulu. Will have to see what they have planned this year. I believe the next Predator and Alien flicks are on Hulu. And finally AppleTV+ gets saved just because its in my cloud storage bundle. All I care about is the storage otherwise I would have axed AppleTV long ago. But they are slowly upping their game. Really enjoying Severance right now.
  17. I can’t imagine people taking it too seriously and faulting it for being anything more than a comic book take on an actual event. It was basically superheroes in red capes and fun as hell. But I was looking forward to Michael Mann’s take on it. I believe he was considering doing Gates of Fire. And had it been made, I would enjoy both versions in my collection.
  18. I went to HBOMAX yesterday to rewatch a 5 minute scene and ended up watching a half hour before realizing I had to go back to work. Now I’m not so sure which version I prefer but still leaning towards Justice is Gray.
  19. We can agree on Dawn of the Dead vs Army of the Dead. But to say he makes bad movies in general? I thought Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen, Man of Steel and his cut of Justice League were fantastic. As much as I would love a somewhat historically accurate telling of the Battle of Thermopylae, I have to admit that 300 was a hell of a popcorn movie. But Gates of Fire is WAY overdo.
