  1. Holy cow, quietly is right! I bought BVS Ultimate in HD years ago on iTunes. Last week I checked and it was widescreen. After your post, I checked again and it’s been updated to the new 4K IMAX version! (Despite the iTunes description not being updated yet). The studio did not charge extra for this. I was all set to buy the new version. This was a most welcome and surprising gift. Strange that it wasn’t updated on HBOMAX. They still have the original widescreen. We are now starting to see benefits of owning digital copies of movies compared to the physical media. Blu-ray was king up until just recently. Now we can stream 4K through 5G. And on top of that the studio can make additions to the extra features or the film itself much like gamers receive updates and additional content to their purchased titles.
  2. I feel the same way actually but in the end if I had to choose one, Scorsese takes it by a landslide. There were mentions of how the general interest is waning for a solo Hulk movie or even this Widow movie. I want this BW flick bad! Disney made a mistake in not streaming it sooner when other studios unleashed their barrage of hits. Yes even Disney makes mistakes. They were worried about their bottom line on BW and that cost them the interest in their product. The shelf life of interest is short. Like the attention span of teenagers. As for a Hulk movie I’ve often thought that using the same actors (Eric Bana/Jennifer Connely) and CGI look of the Hulk from the first film and the general concept and story from the second one would have been something. The over-the-top cartoony Hulk from Ang Lee’s version was wonderful. I love the look of Marvels Hulk now but hate the way Ruffalo portrays Banner. Great actor but hate his portrayal.
  3. Same here. I’ll wait a couple weeks and buy the movie for $19.99. Not renting it for $30 on Disney’s platform that I’m ALREADY paying for! Imagine I said that in my Adam Sandler voice. Made that mistake with Mulan for my daughters. Two weeks later it was for sale on Amazon and iTunes. That’s a self-correcting error. Will never pay more than the subscription price on Disney again.
  4. Either find one person capable of recreating a DCU or stick with quality stand-alone releases like Joker. At this point, I would prefer stand-alone films. At least we finally got to see what we should have from the start. And it was grand.
  5. I agree with you on the first point. That shirt sniffing was creepy. She probably stalks Aquaman on Instagram. But the second point, no. I really enjoyed the Amazon’s music and Diana’s as well.
  6. Not to take Whedon's defense but I’m guessing the studio told him they want a two hour movie. Do what you have to do to get it there. I’m sure if Snyder didn’t leave the project they would have told him the same thing. The difference is, he could have cut his own film down to 2.5 hours and release the extended version for the home release. Like he did for BVS.
  7. It would seem the original product was not improved. It was already complete before Whedon took over and cut it down adding some of his own stuff. The 70 million from HBO was to complete the CGI along with all the processing involved with finishing the raw film. Color correction, sound and a new soundtrack. And the one newly shot Epilogue scene that I could take or leave. I read this somewhere so someone who followed the whole process can correct me if I’m remembering it wrong. But what we saw was always the finished product right up to the epilogue. That’s why Affleck looked so thin in the last scenes.
  8. When I signed up I got a week for free. You can cancel anytime before they charge you. I planned to watch The Little Things, JL and Kong but decided to keep it longer as there’s several series I want to watch.
  9. Since this is an HBOMAX exclusive in which they ponied up 70 million, I imagine ZSJL will be on the platform indefinitely much like Spectral and Polar have been exclusive to Netflix for years.
  10. That’s strange, it’s says available on HBO and yet it’s definitely not there. I’ll just buy the Blu-ray once it’s released.
  11. Coolest moment was when he flexes breaking all the arrows stuck in him. I was like hold on, tapped the 15 second rewind on the screen.
  12. That would be interesting. I had only watched the theatrical once at release and never revisited it. Thankfully I had forgotten some of it. But I remember enough to know the below is complete BS.
  13. I guess that’s the complaint from a lot of people. I didn’t feel it. Maybe because I took two breaks to eat. I would be uncomfortable in a theater for 4 hours but this was perfect for me at home.
  14. That’s too bad you didn’t like it. Definitely not for everyone. What didn’t work for you?
  15. I finished it all with two breaks and thought it was pretty metal. I honestly didn’t think I would like it as much as I did. I guess the title of Justice League was so tarnished before that I didn’t think redemption would come. But it was amazing. My favorite comic movie from the last decade. I can’t believe how good Steppenwolfe looks now. He went from a bad PS2 game to an organic being with complex armor. And that armor was badass. Flawless CGI as it shifts and contracts. I was thinking of all those Amazon’s piling up on him and getting torn up in that intense first battle scene. Definitely some 300 vibes going on there. In Whedon’s JL, Superman shows up and the rest of them are pretty much like, “Oh, you got this? K, we’ll be over here nursing our wounds.” But now you get a coordinated effort with everyone getting a piece. All of them were beating him like it was their job. Now my gripes. I didn’t like the chapter titles breaking the film into parts. Takes me out of the movie. He’s not Tarantino. Small gripe. Here’s a big gripe. You don’t tease the Bat tank in a trailer and then not use the Bat Tank. That’s like me telling my kids I’m taking them to Disneyland and then I drop them off to work in a sweatshop making iPhones. Next, Ben Affleck lost like 30 pounds in the Epilogue, WTF was that about? It’s like he just saved the world so he’s going to smoke as much crack as possible. Finally the big one for me. The Epilogue was unnecessary. To be clear, about the second half of the Epilogue. Snyder knew this would be his last run with these characters so why tease a continuation that won’t happen. He should have filmed a new closing better suited for a stand alone epic. In my future viewings, I’m hitting the stop button right after Clark turns into the alley and tears his shirt revealing the black S. That’s the perfect ending for Zack Snyder’s Justice League. As much as I loved seeing Leto it was just unnecessary. I’m looking forward to seeing this again but will wait until the 4K Blu-ray. I can’t stream this in 4K off HBO at the moment. I’m also looking forward to the black and white version.
  16. These are RT critics we are talking about. The ones approved on RT collectively have never been kind to any of Snyder’s movies. That’s why I am surprised the movie is close to 80%. I haven’t finished it yet but I wouldn’t call any comic book movie a masterpiece. If I had to, I would give that praise to The Dark Knight.
  17. “Let’s hide the three boxes.” Atlanteans take one to the bottom of the ocean. Amazons lock one up in a fortified crypt and stand guard. Man. Buries it in a shallow hole and walks off. “You think 6 feet is good?” We suck.
