  1. I’m revisiting some classics right now. Playing Final Fantasy 7 and GTA: San Andreas on my iPad. I don’t like touch screen games at all but these have controller support so I can use my Xbox controller. San Andreas was remastered and now looks better than it did on the PlayStation.
  2. I was sooo excited for this sequel of sorts. Just watched Peninsula today and it was disappointing. For some reason they decided to make the car chase scenes CGI. Not a big deal for one or two scenes but there were many. I’ve seen better animation in video games. Seriously. Quarantined South Korea looked fantastic and reminiscent of Escape from New York. The Mad Max scenes were silly. The original movie was great, stick with that one, pass on this one.
  3. I’ve seen most of Chadwicks movies except for some recent ones. Will watch 21 Bridges and Da 5 Bloods this weekend.
  4. The title of that article is funny. Like HBO saying they will release Game of Thrones for free to all subscribers. Mulan will cost you seven bucks a month and it will be gone the moment you decide you don’t want to pay seven bucks a month. If you choose to watch Mulan early, well it’s $37.00... and then $7.00 every month after. And I have no problem with any of the pricing but call it what it is. Disney could have shown some class during these hard times by releasing Mulan to all paid subscribers at no additional cost at its release. We are already paying for Disney+. Netflix has never asked me to pay anything on top of the monthly charge. Actually to be fair, T-Mobile pays for my Netflix but that’s beside the point!
  5. Wow, this film actually seemed doomed from the transition. Marvel looking at it like the adopted child they were about to drop off in the woods so they could give more attention to their real kid. I’ll still take the butchered Dark Phoenix over Captain Marvel. So many good performances. I can actually rewatch Dark Phoenix.
  6. There are very few upcoming film franchises I’m excited for. Probably just Dune and Mad Max.
  7. Wait a minute, how did we get here? I’d love to talk and speculate about this film. Let’s save the MCU VS DCU for its own thread. That could be fun, someone start it.
  8. Honestly I’m not sure of how accurate that is. You could be right. Is Marvel more popular today because of the MCU? Looking at the last ten years alone starting at 2010, Marvel has put out 34 films to DC’s 12. I really enjoyed 15 of those 34 in the MCU and 5 of the 12 for DC. Luckily I don’t have to choose a brand. If I did, I would have to choose the banner that Batman falls under.
  9. One thing I forgot to mention about the trailer is that I’m actually excited for the first time about... Commissioner Gordon? Wright is really channeling the character for me. I hope a great role is written for him. I used to be turned off at changing the race of established characters but clearly if an actor can own it then so be it. My former attitude stemmed from the Wild Wild West remake with Will Smith based on a show I grew up with. It was just simply a bad movie and no actor was going to save it.
  10. Where would the MCU be if either of these two had failed? I need to find the article breaking down the ripple effect. The ball started rolling in 1978 while the first successful film based on a Marvel character wouldn’t emerge until 1998 with Blade. They better knock it out of the park with Blades return.
  11. Just finished it. I thought it was pretty good. I enjoyed it. I never read the Phoenix storyline in comics though. I understand most of the complaints were based on that comparison. Days of Future Past - The Rogue Cut is still my favorite X-Men movie.
  12. The 80’s was such a fun decade. The only screen time I got was occasionally watching some tv. One day when I retire, I’m not going to have an electronic footprint. I’ll just walk away from the signal. Will live in my cabin in the mountains until my former commanding officer comes knocking saying the country needs me. I’ll explain that those days are over for me. He’ll get in my head and convince me that I’m hiding from myself and that it’s not really about the Snyder trolls. I’ll accept the mission.
  13. Am I the only one that wants to see Riddler as a serial killer here? Batman doing actual detective work to track him? Nah, let’s go with a green suit with question marks.
  14. I was finally going to rent this today and saw it’s only available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon for $20. Then I realized I had HBOMAX and found it there. Ok, I really want to enjoy this so I’m lowering expectations and going in.
  15. I misspoke, I was referring to the emblem, I like the cowl.
  16. I agree the song is overused but it really works for me here. But he’s definitely not allowed to use it ever again. Ever.
  17. Other than having multiple villains like Batman Returns I’m not seeing any similarities. The tone of this movie leans more towards Seven to me. Initially I wasn’t thrilled with Pattinson being cast. I despised the Twilight stuff so much that it’s hard to shake his connection but I’m giving him a chance. This actually looks like it will be a detective movie. Still don’t like the suit but I love the car.
  18. Watchmen is one of my top five favorite reads in comics (maybe top three) and I thought the movie was amazing. I agreed (at the time) that the squid being left out was probably for the best and wouldn’t translate well on screen. That is until I saw how awesome it was in HBO’s Watchmen.
  19. This looks fantastic. I hope we get the worlds greatest detective in this one.
  20. Yes I would be disappointed if I saw half of what I’ve seen the first time around.
