  1. And a high bar, but still just a bit more inviting than "NFS." Might try it out for a piece or two of mine that I know has good FMV, but that I don't adore. Adding the qualifier "(for something really good)" to discourage lowballs. }:-) Wouldn't send first unless it's someone I know or a dealer, though.
  2. New Frazetta for the collection arriving today, a piece from his Came the Dawn work. Stoked!!
  3. Another reason: "I reeeeeally like this piece, but I'm willing to give it up for a piece I reeeeeeaaallllllly like even more. That, or 10 million will do."
  4. Jeehyung Lee on Black Cat goodness: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1668873
  5. Definitely passing down most if not all of what I've got that'll retain value to the kid(s). He can do as he likes with them. I'd prefer not to spend so much money on any hobby that it'd make a serious difference on way or another.
  6. Sometimes a wakeup call is all that's needed. Would challenge him, just for fun, to try moving 10-20 of the pieces he cares for least. But yes, as long as he's not pouring his life savings into this, different strokes for different folks.
  7. You've done found out what all the 90s pouches are for... :O (Narrator Voice) Indeed, they opened to reveal grotesque foot after missing foot. And readers, who'd once snickered at the pouches like a bunch of art elitists, screamed and screamed forevermore. THE END
  8. This is a fun one to think about. For me, some breadth is a good thing, because I feel nostalgia for more than a few artist/characters. I gravitate towards flashy stuff that'd appreciate in or at least retain value, but I also love finding lower-end pieces at a bargain that pound-for-pound pack a real (nostalgia) punch. Am currently at around 60 pieces of OA; can imagine getting up to 80-100 or so, but regularly curating/shedding as needed.
  9. Very cool. I do think an overlay can be a good "compromise" solution if done right. When I acquired this cover, it came with its overlay for the title and world balloon (Garney's doing, I believe), and I love being able to enjoy both versions with a flip of the hand: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1583520
  10. ...and yet edged out by the Finch X-Men cover by $500. Nice try, Milo !
  11. Time to dust off this thread as Halloween nears... some Fabian and Elmore:
  12. Shatterstar. One of the more popular X-Force members, at least back then.
  13. Nope, belongs to the Brothers: http://www.coollinesartwork.com/featured.asp?Piece=301628 I'm not into restorations myself. Getting a color copy cover for my Marvel Mystery Comics #2 (acquired via trade years back) is the closest I've gotten, though that doesn't count in the eyes of the grading overlords: https://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=43655&GSub=289

  15. Nothin' wrong with bringing it up, that's what this thread is for! Really nice page. You'll get varying opinions on what to do. Fwiw, I say keep as is if there's any possibility you'll move it in the future. If it's permanent collection or bust, then do as you'd like.
  16. And just like that, they've shipped, wahoo! Go us.
  17. Heritage takes their sweet time shipping these days, huh? Ommmmmm...
  18. This soothes the soul. Will soak it in a bit before I return to making my "Hit me baby one more time" bumper sticker.
  19. Wow... us OAers have had righteous results on the car damage front. }:-)
  20. I've heard that the best way to catch a wild P-nutz is to lay a trap with bait... https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/charles-schulz-peanuts-sunday-comic-strip-snoopy-original-date-14-04-68-united-feature-syndicate-1968-/a/7237-82215.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515
