  1. Happens to the best of us... you'll feel better when that $$ goes to something even better. }:-)
  2. I am one of the (many) folks who view Frazetta's and Wrightson's works as holy, sacrosanct. Indeed, Wrightson's own regard for Frazetta -- see the Painting with Fire docu for some sweet quotes -- is heartwarming. Both had technical skills up the wazoo, but a new hot thang artist wouldn't be able to match either via sheer technical merits alone. The toughest department would be imbuing S o u l... that elusive x-factor. Frazetta's sense of soul, of vitality, is off the charts in even his barest sketches. And even Bernie's most undead of undead characters had an infinite pathos. I can ramble on, but you get my drift.
  3. Cosmic Ghost Rider, eat yer heart out... Cosmic Horror in the house (now my profile pic): https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1708862
  4. So damned good, got a gazillion Instagram likes... he's crushing it.
  5. Hats off, we've lost some greats in the past year. Corbin, Lightle, Sinnott, now Thorne...
  6. Just in, Cosmic Horror from the Legends set. Required some trade + sale acrobatics with comic original art, NFT land and art, plus a sports card. Happily causing a (Lovecraftian) splash in the MtG FB groups... https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1708862
  7. Voods, you doing alrighty these days, man? Seems your every other post involves watching the rest of us get burnt to a crisp somehow
  8. 37 years old here, son is 6 months. He already loves it when we "read" the X-Men Poster Magazine together... granted, he gets excited about pretty much anything except for the creepy arse moving/singing bird stuffed animal with eyes like a sleepy Chucky. I've already been trading (up) and selling much of the lower- to mid-end portion of my OA collection that may not stand the test of time. What's left, will gradually pass down to him with a proper education. The odds of everything going to zero are virtually nil, better are the odds of some pieces going ever higher, plus the sentimental value is priceless.
  9. To live in a day when these were 50 cents... : )
  10. Speaking of, latest Frazetta pickup: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1707080 I think I can see it in the man's hair...
  11. Eagle has landed, my latest Frazetta, Golden Age romance: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1707080
  12. Prediction: In the long run, NFTs will supplement -- not disrupt or harm -- our traditional OA market. Much as digital cards have done vis-a-vis the sports card market. There's room enough for everyone under the kumbaya tent. Party on, pardners.
  13. Agreed, it can actually be more fun finding low-end gems than forking over gazillions. Not easy, but doable.
  14. If only I had loads of crypto, just too old-fashioned O: )
  15. fwiw, lately I've found it easier to trade up multiple nice pieces for something really nice.
  16. I guarantee you the crypto folks are quivering in fear due to the CBs (not). Ask the govs how they've done in their attempts to kill Pirate Bay and BitTorrent, that venerable 2nd gen. peer-to-peer network. Hint: both are still widely used, and BitTorrent's founder (an acquaintance) is gamely working on a blockchain project these days. Libra was easy to manhandle by threatening FB, a single point of attack. Centralized crypto exchanges are already scoffed at by non-noobs in the space for their fees and hackability. There are many, many ways around them. The ship has sailed.
  17. Here we go, yummmmy: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1705649
