Won two last night on a whim and was underbidder on the 4 other books.  Don't think I saw anything exceed GPA with quite a few taking a big hit - fell asleep or I would have pushed a few up a bit.  Liking the look of the two books I won.

Very nice colors on both books--especially that #12.

     Congrats!

  2. Ended up going on Saturday, was there from 9:15-4:00 with a break for lunch.  Great crowd as the day went on, especially after noon.  While I'll always want more comic sellers, there was a nice mix for all interests.  Felt that the flow of people went well, but I admit my focus was just on the comic sellers' alley.

Spent a lot of time at Dale's setup (hands down the best of the show) and came away with some great looking books.

No reservation at all about attending next year.IMG_3252.thumb.JPG.ab979e40efd699956b4199555f69ff29.JPGIMG_3253.thumb.JPG.8c526d898cf688c25edbff830a9cd2d3.JPG

At the airport waiting for my flight home. It was a fun show, and on the plus side I was able to get my Hamill autograph and my brother got his from Jeffrey Morgan (though the latter was more difficult than Hamill was for me). Other than the publicized issues with some guests I thought the guest list was great and people responded.

On the minus side, sales at the booth declined from 2016, which had declined from 2015. I suspect the ever growing fees for autographs are influencing this sales decline.  The celebrity autograph area needs to be expanded considerably. I was expecting the Fire Marshall while waiting for Hamill on Saturday at 2.

    More after I'm home.

My son, the Pop figure fan, and I almost hit up the Duncanville store yesterday for his monthly fix.  Seeing their wall of figures at the show, might have been a good decision to wait until next week for a run.

Sorry to hear about the drop-off in booth sales.

Pride of Baghdad.  Vertigo one-shot written by Brian K. Vaughan.   This book will haunt you.  I'm serious, its been 10 years since I read it, and just thinking about it makes me feel the same way I felt when I finished it.  Not for the weak willed.

Absolutely.  I even gave the TPB to my father in law (who is a retired professor of Middle Eastern Studies) just because it's so powerful of a story.
