  1. Some online buys: A VG reader but hey All Krypton issue! I don't know why but I just love this cover, and my first whitman
  2. Unapologetic newsstand collector here. Outside of the odd copper key and later truly HTF books I don't see much price difference with regard to newsstands. Especially so at dealer booths. It's not hard to find e-bay listings trying to capitalize but I don't think they're realizing sales.
  3. Have a great Canada Day everybody!
  4. I was unaware of Buckler until recently, but this is the book that reignited my interest in comics when, on a whim, I stopped into a show two years ago and picked it up. So cool.
  5. So far the only copy I've put towards this 4-part series in Canadian newsstand. They are tough!
  6. If I understand you right, you are doing a cover re-creation and needing to add the ship? Or are you doing an all-original piece? In either case the sphere will lend itself easily to most any composition, and you could de-emphasize it by size/simplicity to the point it works for you. The Kirby ship is so complex it'd risk overtaking Galactus and Surfer figures, presumably the focus of your image. Unless, as said, you showed it off in the distance, which I don't think is that problematic.
  7. I'd go with whichever you think you can make the best use of, i.e. composition, layout, figure/ground. The sphere might be easier in that regard, but that second one is one hot mess!
  8. I commiserate. It is surely frustrating when you do the math. There are good sellers though on this side of the border and for the difference in cost and shipping times you can do ok.
  9. I have stopped buying direct copies almost entirely. Especially hate that little spidey face on every marvel book for like 20 years
  10. Enjoying this thread also. My only advice- don't overstuff your longboxes! I hate that!
  11. I think that because ebay's reach for buyers is so great, a lot of the time it's sellers just hoping to get a very good price for whatever they are selling. If there are only a couple examples for sale online, a buyer may just buy on impulse and overpay.
  12. Yeah second print, didn't realize there was one. I think I like the dark cover more
  13. Interesting background on Elektra. I loved the MWOF series. Romita Jr at his best. Pulled these two out of a dollar box a couple weeks back so I now have some reading to do.
