  1. Just arrived today. Very happy to finally own a copy of Uncle Scrooge #1.
  2. Indeed. (thumbs u Can't believe no one commented on this group shot.
  3. I've been away from the Gold forum for a long time (over 5000 unread posts ). But I just caught up on the Ducks thread. Love Barks ducks. I need to re-read my reprints sometime this year. Barks original art.
  4. Congrats on your grail. (thumbs u One of the more poignant collecting stories I've heard on these boards was about Daredevil #1. "My big break came when I realized that there was still one silver-age superhero that was actually still affordable to us kids: Daredevil. Me and my best friend saved for weeks to buy a F copy of #1 for $100 (each) and had it shipped to his house. I remember the excitement when he called to tell me it had arrived, and would bring it to school the next day. That friend was later killed by a driver just after we both graduated high school. I still have the book and will never sell it." http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=4&Number=287451&Searchpage=1&Main=15456&Words=%2Bdaredevil+Smokinghawk&topic=0&Search=true#Post287451
  5. This week in my son's comic collection.... deciBell #1! It's a free comic from Chick-Fil-A. Is it wrong that I wanted to bag and board it? It was in 9.0/9.2 shape before I gave it to him. And it's a key #1 issue!
  6. Thanks Man!!!! Gotta say I did your Sig Line as well!!! I would love to someday get my hands on some of those classic Sandman Covers!!! I know #40 is probably out of reach for me at this time, but would be so psyched if I could find the right copy of #42, 44, 46, 47, 51, or 60 for my collection!!!!!! And that Amazing Fantasy #15 is spectacular Sweet book. (thumbs u As a fan of Simonson's Manhunter story in Detective Comics, I've always considered that issue THE key Adventure comic.
  7. Today is 2/27. What better day to pull out my copy of Batman 227 and take a pic.
  8. I had an issue with USPS last week. Apparently you can't use any tape on a flat rate priority envelope or they won't give you the flat rate. I had to pay several dollars more for regular priority.
  9. Awesome! I'm a big fan of Ras and Batman 244. (thumbs u
  10. Checking this thread for the first time in over a year. Amazing work, Matt.
  11. Just started reading The Hobbit for the first time yesterday.
  12. I need to join this club next year. (I've only read the story in b/w in my copy of Batman from the 30s to 70s).
  13. Won this in a white elephant gift exchange at work today.
  14. Ouch. All my regrets are monetary, not because I miss the comic.
  15. Just had a smooth transaction with Andrew. Very fast payment and a pleasure to do business with. (thumbs u
  16. It's been a long time since I bought a Neal Adams Batman. A 244 with a UK stamp just went cheap. I just missed entering my bid by seconds. I'm pouting now.
  17. Just watched this auction end. Was $76 with 10 seconds to go. Batman 244 raw sells for $238!
