  1. True. I should have been more clear, i think once Marvel officially announces whatever the plans are for including the X-Men in the MCU then the additional bump will come. Bumps on top of bumps. I bought a copy off these boards in May for at or a little above GPA and based on recent Ebay sales it looks like the value has already gone up about $600.
  2. I've been continuing to message him for my amusement and he keeps responding with these long messages still trying to convince me its real for some reason. He's trying to say his comic doesn't match at all with the neatstuff comic. I just sent him this pic. This is a side by side close up with the neatstuff pic on the left and his on the right. It sure is weird how his legit Hulk 1 has the exact same stains as neatstuff's coverless repro cover Hulk 1.
  3. "no returns" is meaningless on ebay. The buyer could literally claim on comic out of the thousands wasn't as described and win the case if the seller chose to fight it. Ebay will always side with the buyer. Knowing this, in the past I used to take a lot of risks on ebay buying questionable listings. I never lost a dime when it was inevitably fraud 95% of the time, but the few times it wasn't fraud were worth it. The main time being an AF15 I bought fr a seller with zero feedback (I was a dummy though and flipped it). Having said that, I wouldn't bother with this one due to the huge hassle resulting from the large amount of books and how obvious it is that it's not legit. Also I'm older and lazier.
  4. Five copies of Xmen #1 I agree this one is poised for a decent bump. It's been slowly continuing to heat up while other "grails" from the first MCU wave are cooling off.
  5. Agreed. Sell it on ebay and say "Never pressed. Never read!!! @@@WOW!!!" in the listing Just kidding about the last part, but I do agree it doesn't make financial sense to throw more money at it. Selling and cutting your losses is the best option.
  6. Curious though if the 48 going for $200 a couple months ago was due to the COVID dip in sales prices that seemed to last through May.
  7. Herb was the premier Hulk artist in my book. When it comes to Buscema I prefer John (his Conan work was legendary), but Sal did have a good run in Avengers and Defenders.
  8. For the pics he sent, look closely at the left side of the splash page from Hulk 1. Clearly something going on with the staples. Looks to me like at best its a coverless book with a repro cover. I also messaged the seller just to see what excuses or nonsense he would say. He also told me that he "paid a family member to take some more pics". The pics he sent me were almost all pics that were already in the listing. Sellers like this always have some excuse as to why they can't easily do something completely reasonable. Often a buyer seeing dollar signs in their eyes will find ways to accept the story as legit and push aside the obvious red flags. All because the buyer wants to be on the receiving end of under paying for a large valuable collection at the expense of a seller who doesn't realize what he has. This is exactly what the seller wants buyers to get caught up in. Assuming he does in fact have all those comics (I'm still up in the air about if he is using pics from somewhere online or if he has a bunch of 25 cent to one dollar comics with some Hulk repo's thrown in) whoever wins this lot on the hope that the Hulk 1 is legit and justifies the price paid is going to have a fun time trying to fight the seller for a return once they get them in hand and discover the truth. Additionally the seller told me he wouldn't authenticate the Hulk 1 because it would "open him up to fraud". Below was my response to him and I did report it to ebay as being fraudulent. Of course I never heard back from the seller after that. Guaranteeing the authenticity of what your selling is the most basic responsibility of any seller. It's concerning that you would claim that opens you up to fraud. If you want top dollar like you say then you can't expect a buyer to pay you tens of thousands of dollars based on a hope that they're originals and not reprints. That doesn't make any sense. Also I went back to the listing and confirmed the majority of the additional pics you sent were just the same pics already in the listing.
  9. Oh yeah, I'm sure he would if he had them . I'm saying chances are he doesn't have any of the comics pictured so there's nothing to ship. The fact he's saying they're all packed up so he conveniently can't provide any additional pictures is a big red flag.
  10. Furthermore there's nobody left anymore who is unaware. With the popularity of comic characters in movies and TV these days, even a guy who inherited Darkhawk #1 would assume it was worth millions. The only examples of someone being unaware go in the direction of overvaluing, not grossly undervaluing. If this situation was 100% legit there's no way he wouldn't have bothered to look up the comics to see what they go for. Especially when he is referencing specific old characters. He is clearly trying to sound naive like oh what are these silly old funny books with this Hulk guy? Lastly, for whoever "wins" he won't actually ship anything. He'll stall for a while and most likely provide a previously used tracking number to buy extra time to let the funds clear PayPal . The details vary, but I've seen scams like this many a time.
  11. I have learned over many years buying off eBay that trying to figure out why the scammer is doing what he's doing is pointless, if it feels like a scam then it always is. I've "been scammed" many times and I put that in quotes because I've never lost a dime. This one is clearly a scam. I would bet if you Google enough you can find these pics somewhere else online. It's most likely an account takeover. Anyone here who has messaged him or bid will eventually get an email from eBay advising of the takeover.
  12. Got a chance to try your trick and it totally worked. The one I checked was $50 less than I expected based on sorting competed items by descending dollar amount. So, pretty close.
  13. Whoa. That's some serious detective work. I'll give it a try on some of those Xmen sales.
  14. For sold best offers, from what I've seen over the years (including items I have sold) is if your sort by sold items with price descending even though it won't display the actual sales amount it will sort based on the actual sale amount. Which if there are enough sales of a book, will give you a pretty solid ballpark on the sale price.
  15. Not sure if I missed this info somewhere, but wondering how long it takes GPA to update with ebay sales. I haven't checked lately (admittedly I'm cheap and don't have a subscription myself because I have a friend who has one) but a month or so ago I saw the value of an xmen 1 2.0 was showing much lower on GPA then the last 3 ebay sales in that grade. The sales were all about $4k for a 2.0 blue label, but GPA was reporting $3400.
  16. Hahaha Wow. Only a measly $7500. Not sure how it's even still available at that bargain price . And, are the stickers actually on the comic itself???
  17. I've noticed on ebay the vultures are already putting "Chadwick Boseman" in their newly added FF52 listings
  18. Damn. I'm also in the Hulk 1-6 club but mine aren't in that high of grade Well done!
  19. Pics are Def nice.. I don't know if I have the patience to dig all of mine out
  20. I once read an article where he openly admitted he overcharges because he can. His logic was that comics are very prevalent on the East coast but harder to find on the West coast so he can overcharge based on demand . I don't know the date of that interview, but unless it was from before the mid 90s... If only there existed some sort of futuristic technology that made it possible for people on the West coast to find comics outside of their immediate geographical location....
  21. Nice! I'm trying to finish off my Savage Sword Of run. By far my favorite series when it comes to art and story.

  23. Considering they were an unexpected find and they were free, I wouldn't lose a lot of sleep about condition. That's a really cool find even just to read. Depending on level of interest in comics and/or how jaded someone is, it can become all about condition and value, but comics are more than just a grade and a value . Congrats!
  24. With the addition of Tales To Astonish #49 this week, I have completed my Ant Man/Wasp major keys
