I've said all along there should be a restoration scale just like a grading scale. It should be much more complex than the three simple categories we now have.
I believe CGC proposed this about a year or 2 ago and when presented to "the boards" for an opinion it went over like a lead balloon...
I'll try to track this down via the sooper-dooper forum search engine...

Ok forgive my ignorance please as I am new to these boards. My question is a simple one. I hear references to GREGGY all the time. No matter what topic, GREGGY comes up. Who is GREGGY? Why is he always the topic of discussion. What relevance is GREGGY. Can someone please describe This GREGGY and why so many people are seemingly obsessed with GREGGY?
He's magic. Whole lotta magic.
Sexy magic even...

Speaking of Flash Gordon, I just cracked open a bottle of wine and I'm about to sit down with my wife and watch the campy 1980 movie that just came out on DVD (even got a free cheesy poster with my purchase from Sam Goody!) (thumbs u
Be sure to crank the sound...in fact...drink the bottle of wine first then watch the movie...that way you'll be in the proper mode to enjoy the crazy background FX as well... (thumbs u

I think trimming is what devalues a paper collectable more than any other aspect...a "touch of glue" just wouldn't have the same impact in value.
I can't agree with the baseball card analogy since there is much more to a comic than a simple 2 sided collectable...

I was there...didn't you see me???...

This was waiting for me when I got home today. I must have upgraded (or attempted to upgrade) this book a half a dozen times, but I think now I'm finally satisfied.

And once again I follow a stunning acquisition (beautiful book Surfer) with something a little lower on the GA scale...
Carson City copy

but I don't see how all the blame can fall on me.
I don't think "blame" is the proper word here...I would say that both of you were equally at "fault" here but it's not to a world ending degree...chalk it up to a learning experiance... (thumbs u

Buyer = how hard is it to post a PM saying " You've got cash" ...
Seller = how hard is it to look at "Payments Recieved" on Paypal...
Both of you guys need to kiss and make up and go to a neutral corner since you both are equally at "fault" here...

Awesome stuff 143... (thumbs u

With that, I had just enough $$$ to pay the dog's kennel bill and a burger. Broke but happy!
Nice books...and who was the burger for???...

Yet another SD Con pickup, this one also from MrBedrock - strict grading, great price, and great pages (I think the book presents very well!). Origin of Bulletgirl, too:
Nice book that gets me to wondering... ...I really am liking the diagonal half&half cover format that I have been seeing quite often... ..Was there ever a list that specifies all the GA books using this format...kinda like a Marvel picture frame list???...
Seems like this could end up being another expensive collecting tangent I'm heading for..

GrampsNice copies but you have to wonder how DC stayed in business all those years with all those lame covers, my gosh the story lines must have been horrendous. They were fun as a kid...

Let me betray my Golden Age ignorance here, but is that Tarzan on the Sparkler covers?
Dennis
Not just Tarzan...but Tarzan as portrayed by Burne Hogarth...
Which one would you choose ????
