Doc Savage rocks!
I really like the Fawcette covers on thos Avon sci-fi books. There is one that is on my mini-grail list. I had a copy 15 years ago and sold it like a doofus. (Out of This World 1 - June 1950)
Like the one I just landed at Heritage last night...
Twas a "mini-grail" of mine also...

I picked up this book basically because I liked the graphic layout of the cover and it reminded me of Wiseman "Dennis the Menace" artwork...I was pleased to see that it is chock full of single page strips by Clifford McBride...

Geez Richard are you pulling these stunners out of a hat or something, my goodness.
I am pulling them out of somewhere, but I am not sure that this is the appropriate place to divulge that information.
well, whereever you are pulling them from, they are BEAUTS!

Perhaps out of The Rocketeers asss...

Your books look even better now that you have better scan capabilities... (thumbs u
Not to downgrade your books or anything...but should this book have received a 9.0 with that chip out of the FC???...
Got this in a trade from Ciorac. I know it has been around the block a few times, and I am pretty sure a number of forum folks have owned it (including Filter81), but I think it has found a home.

I feel like I was the only one that liked the "new boards"...now this modification just totally sucks...see ya later... :hi:

What happened to the forum drop-down box? I was just getting used to that. Argh
That was one of my favorite functions of the upgrade...

[ think the big question is...What is wrong with everybody's eyes???...
Who said that?
ME!!! ...

but the grey background is killing my eyes. I can't handle being on the boards more than a few minutes.

Someone that understands color psychology and how that impacts mood and personality could potentially lend some useful insight.
I'm not versed on this subject, but I can imagine that a TURD colored forum scheme is not going to put anyone in a good mood.
Certain colours are better than others. From what i remember, pinks are soothing, but only for short periods. Blues are aggresive. Reds are stimulating while yellows and oranges are "digestive" colours. Greens are healing. I think the reason the old yellow board was so appealing was because it was "light", bright and uplifting. It was a "feel good" colour. Arch did mention in his "list to do" that optional colours will be an upgrade.
I miss the old site though....anyone have a snap shot so I can revisit?
I think we can put the color scheme being used now in the Mundane catagory...

I actually like the new boards...just one of many things I like about it is that when you title a thread you will see the complete title instead of having half of it cut off due to space constrictions...

Just got it in the mail today!! Not very many people have seen this before.
Mile High is selling this comic book for over $1000. The original Love and Rockets created, printed and sold by Hernandez Bros.
It took me over a hour to research the comic book to make sure it was genuine and the original comic book that was sold at a comic book convention in 1981. Limited to 1000.
Love and Rockets #1 (Ashcan or Prototype) - B & W cover and interior
Nice!!!... Where did you find it???...

In today's mail, to me this is a striking image in its detail and it's nice to see Elias not copying Caniff so much for once -
Nice book Scrooge...although Elias seems to be heavy on the inks like Caniff...I never new he was a student of his...

Now if only I can find that ellusive #5.
Before me...
Don't worry, even if one ever came up for sale I wouldn't be able to afford it.
Copy that...

Just picked up this whole set on eBay in one fell swoop! BTW there's going to be a new Flash Gordon TV show that's going to start on the Sci Fi channel in August - I'm really excited about it, but I just hope it isn't all camped out like the 70s movie.I loved the 70's movie.......
I think he meant Flash Gordon, not Flesh Gordon, Bill.

I was traumatized for life after seeing the Penisaurus....
