  1. Scott, I’m curious if some trades turned out better for you than the other party in hindsight or have most gone the other way? Because you have a very unique perspective as both artist and collector, I’d love for you to elaborate if you feel comfortable.
  2. Two Deadpool pages from New Mutants #98 were sold at Heritage a little while back as prelims. However, if you listen to Rob Liefeld’s podcast, he and Marat Mychaels explain his process during this era. These were the original pencils done on smaller paper (which is how Rob liked to work) then a Xerox machine was used to reproduce a larger copy which would be inked by Marat. I wish I had purchased both pieces but could only afford one at the time. Congrats to whoever owned the other! Mine is currently on display at the Marvel Exhibit in Wellington, New Zealand. 3. GSXM 1 is always highly sought after. I have little doubt that one is going to have a lot of heat on it.
  4. I’m curious where you are buying or have you stopped buying for the past few years as well. No sarcasm here and genuinely interested.
  5. Yeah, it felt like he was leaving money on the table.
  6. Even Kirsten was confused... https://screenrant.com/spiderman-kirsten-dunst-gwen-stacy-not-mary-jane/

  8. It's a good question. I do think it can skew some pieces on the lower end, but I would think with prominent artists and characters, buyers may be more educated than the auction houses in many cases. It's not a knock on the auctions, just a reality that collectors tend to be more invested in the property as fans.
  9. I saw that as well. Pretty strong early action and a bit surprising, but hopefully that is good news for sellers. Honestly, this is one of the better lineups I've seen from Comic Link recently. It isn't full of the very highest end art, but there are some really strong examples of both sought after characters and artists. Between this and Heritage in April, I think we may see some fireworks.
  10. Right?!? Once it hits your lips… 😂
  11. Oh wow, I love Coke Zero (Cherry Coke Zero actually). To each their own I guess.
  12. Congrats to the winners. I think the upcoming auctions are going to be amazing but the weekly auctions have been a little tough.
  13. In Coca Cola’s defense, Coke Zero is a banger.
  14. Likely. There are definitely some people with whom I won’t do business any more. I’m sure the same goes the other way. Personalities don’t always align, and some practices I do not condone. I still hope to support the artists in the end, but sometimes the middleman ruins the opportunity. In my own collecting, I have chosen not to support individuals whom I believe don’t have the hobby’s best interest in mind. We all have a choice in how we spend our money. In the end, I will miss out on certain pieces, but there are always other pages out there that will satisfy the chase.
  15. This was solid recap of some of the key auction pieces from Dino and Bill. Putting here to memorialize the. Moving on to April’s auction thread and leaving this one behind. https://www.youtube.com/live/l-selD0JZEE?si=8LQ5TpdxP2BXy_vz
  16. Sounds like unanimous sentiment across the board!
  17. I received a shipment last week from them. Dave Wachter Punisher piece.
  18. Corey is no longer with Cadence. I’m unsure about Andrew. Not a good sign.
  19. Or just sell directly to collectors. This is a growing trend that typically nets an artist more if they have the capacity to manage that side of the business. The problem is between deadlines, conventions, commissions, etc, it is a lot.
