A few years ago I purchased the cell with Background shown at an estate sale in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
It is related to the 1934 Walt Disney Silly Symphonies Cartoon, "The Grasshopper and the Ants".
I say related because I have studied the original Cartoon that is available on YouTube and i could not find this particular cell nor background in the entire cartoon.
I know thousands of cells were required to produce a cartoon and that cells were sold in the aftermarket by Courvoisier in the late 1930's, often with backgrounds from different productions.
Can anyone give me information on what this may have been used for/in and what cartoon the background may be from?
I have studied many pre 1936 Disney Cartoons on Youtube looking for this background and have failed to find it thus far.
Could this be a cell that was just not used in the Cartoon, or a scene cut from the Cartoon?
It is in the original frame as on the brown paper reverse is written in pencil;
Happy Birthday Mildred
From Thelma and Family
1936
Grasshopper from the picture "The Grasshopper and the Ants"
Original Drawing from Walt Disney
Studio Hollywood California
Background original used in pictues
Thanks for any information anyone can provide.
