  1. Here’s my Lost Valley book, thanks to a boardie earlier this year:
  2. The April issue was the Hitler cover. February was an outer space cover. VERY cool to know that this is the first Hitler cover. Here are both
  3. Are there any Flash Comics in the pedigree, other than the 54? Or was that not one of the titles that she regularly picked up?
  4. This was the one I mentioned earlier, and the reason I was so badly searching for a copy.
  5. There are multiple copies of ToT 16 and TMIH 16 on eBay and one copy of CoC 24 on eBay right now, all exorbitantly priced. That’s why I have the caveat in my previous statement about willingness to pay the $$$.
  6. I finally got lucky with ToT 16 but I’ve only found the other two issues around vg. The Tomb of Terror (in 9.0) was acquired only after making a pretty crazy offer once I found someone with a copy in their collection. People just don’t sell high grade copies of these that often...it can be frustrating, lol.
  7. One reason why there might be the perception that PCH is cooling is the flooding of low grade, overpriced copies on eBay. When you see the same book sit stagnant for week after week it can lead you to believe that there has been a downward market shift. In reality, it is someone fishing with dynamite, trying to find that impulse buyer that just “has to have it now”, and doesn’t mind sitting on the book until they do. Conversely, there are books that I personally have been looking for for decades in grade with few copies ever surfacing (CoC 24, ToT 16 and TMIH 16 spring to mind). Most books are easily attainable in vg or lower (if you are willing to pay the $$$). Finding them in 7.0 or better is...challenging.
  8. I recently used Heritage’s option to purchase grader’s notes on previously sold books for a book that I have had for a few years. It is a Bethlehem pedigree and has the Kery stamp on the back which is the telltale sign of a Beth book. The grade is 7.0 and the label recognizes it as a pedigree. This is an old slab (2005). These are the notes: Back Cover Address/Date/Name Stamp Center Front Cover Lite Crease Spine Wear Whole Book Wear All Edges Does this mean the stamp impacted the grade, even though it actually shows that it is the pedigree? Is this the case with ALL pedigree markings (Okajima, Church, etc)? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
  9. Agreed, but at least the multiple of guide used to be lower (or at least steady), especially for lower grade PCH. Now I’m seeing lower graded books at multiples that usually were commanded by higher graded books.
  10. Yesterday on eBay a Tales From the Crypt 24 in 4.0 sold (at auction, not BIN) for almost 4 1/2 times OPG. PCH is very much alive and kicking.
  11. I for one LOVE ACGs! They are quirky, and the covers are bland but hide some really cool gems.
  12. Hi there. Longtime collector of both PCH and war books here. What I am seeing in the PCH market are the key books are still very thermal, but a lot of people overprice the less interesting and lower grade stuff. This can create the appearance of a cold market when in reality, it’s just the same books that we turned down for years at guide, and now people are asking multiples of guide for books we still don’t care about. BCM50, CSS22, etc will ALWAYS be in demand, even though CSS22 has 294 copies slabbed.
