  1. Exactly my situation. If I wasn’t focusing on New Comics this would already have been bought by me.
  2. 52 year-old here, and I bought my first piece of art in 1991. I have a lot of regrets for things I’ve sold when I was younger and the stuff was not only plentiful but a whole lot cheaper to buy (Lubbers splash for $50, early Star Wars covers for $300, etc). I used to sell or trade art to get pieces that I wanted more, but now I definitely have more of a hoard/“to the grave” mentality. Also, if my parents are any indication, I have at least another 40 years to play in the sandbox. I’ve always bought art and comics I enjoy, and don’t intend to stop anytime soon.
  3. Yes and no.....it’s the first book publication of “Call of Cthulhu” but actually also the first COMPLETE publication of the story, because it was heavily edited for publication in Weird Tales. I personally am looking for a copy of this more than I am the Weird Tales issue for that reason.
  4. Testament to the 🔥🔥🔥 of this book, a single page just sold for $286. Only one side was a story page, the other was an ad.
  5. I love GA variants, especially when the variants are with the art and not just price. Like the “bloody” Action 62 variant.
  6. Best war cover ever! Great copy too...I’d love to have a GFC of this one.
  7. Anyone know the story with these Daisy covers? Is there a list of the covers that this find entailed?
  8. I like the ones that have the writing on the cover, almost making this pedigree-esque. Does anyone know the story behind these, other than just being something Daisy used as a way to track their ads?
  9. Hot or cold, I’m having trouble finding the ones I am after at ANY price!
  10. Barring an upgrade, these are my “to the grave” books.
  11. TFTC 23 and 24 are not only the most iconic EC covers, but I’d put them in the top 10 of all PCH covers. If I have to pick a favorite, though, I would give a slight edge to 24. At least the guy on 23 has a (slim) chance of surviving!
  12. I love these oversized books, along with New Fun and early Jumbos
  13. I have seen a handful of PCH books with an evidence stamp on the inside front cover from the Senate hearings. All of the ones that I saw were from Standard.
  14. Thanks for the tip...that’s a HORRIBLE change, especially since you can’t individually mark the sales sub categories
  15. Biggest annoyance for me with the new change is that the “mark all as read” tab is gone. That makes it a lot tougher to keep track of what threads I want to read.
  16. Last purchase of the year will be my two pickups from the ComicConnect auction tonight, but they likely won’t arrive until 2021. This was the most recent purchase in hand that I can recall (and a very underrated key!)
  17. Ernie Schroeder. I’m a fan of his work for Harvey and Hillman, but haven’t seen that much written about him.
