  1. When buying cheap raw books it's always a crapshoot. The sellers attitude not withstanding I would have never even have bothered with trying to contact him.
  2. I do this all the time. At home when receiving and at PO when sending. I am paranoid and wear my tinfoil hat when doing it just to be safe.
  3. I would just like to point out to always include a packing slip inside the box of senders and buyers address on it. If a label gets destroyed and they do not know where it goes they may open it to see if there is some identification inside. If not they will send it to the lost mail dept. in Atlanta where you will never find it. Think the lost Ark is there.
  4. I don't recall it selling out but I do remember a guy who frequented my friends store who was talking about buying every copy he could find. This, when it came out just made me laugh. I hope he made out ok. He had a long box full of them.
  5. I was an ASM completist but Marvel just broke me. I think with Volume 3 #1 with 40 variant covers I came to my senses and realized I was being taken advantage of. I sold all of my variants which was about 90% complete to a top 3 registry collector of ASM.
  6. I am in the process of working on my ASM 200-300 newsie/direct run. I am looking for a NM or better run. I won't break the bank for them but when buying slabbed all things being equal I gravitate to the newsies only because that was the majority of my original purchases. Some peoples mindset is they have to have the best most unique collection. whether that means in grade, rarity or whatever.
  7. I will take ASM : 200, 232, 233, 234, 235, 241, 242, 243, 254, 257, 258, 264, 267, 270, 272, 278, and 283
  8. Non- Photographic blue line pencils have been in use for as long as I remember in the mid 1980's. I have an artist in Indonesia who uploads the pencils to a shared folder and the Inker in Michigan prints the pencils on 130gsm artboard as non photographic blue and inks over that. By the time the penciler sends the original pencils the inker is already done. It makes the whole process go quicker. I still prefer traditional artboard over all digital for various reasons.
  9. there has been a run up in price the last couple of years. I think there is a lot of downside risk on 9.8 and 9.6. I think a 9.4 is the safe play here. It will still look nice and a newsie in 9.4 don’t bring the usual premium and it will probably sell at a later date around the same price. In my opinion anyway.
