  1. Well, when your primary attack is your toe it doesn't surprise me. I always would get these two confused at firs glance. The Tarantuala was a dumb character. No wonder he turned into a giant spider lol.
  2. This is the toughest range for me. 3.0-4.0 I would be surprised if it gets into the VG tier. I love this issue btw.
  3. They are not obligated to take cash. weird huh?
  4. Nice. 9.4/9.6 based on what I can see.
  5. Chris Seifert sold it. I believe comicbook.com owns it now.
  6. I sometimes think when I see bends and NCB spine dings that they were pressed but not very well and that the paper reverted to a pre-press state. As for the color break that would never be a 9.8 unless it is on ebay ;-)
  7. I say 6.0 also. I think a pro press could get you a 7.5
  8. I doubt the marketing department does a lot of grading.
  9. My particular copy came from Graham Crackers Comics in Chicago. They are a pretty sizable chain and the owner told me via email that they only got 4 ASM 667's. 3 went to holds and one went to the floor. I don't think any copies went to the shops in St. louis as I am friendly with several of them. It was a sparse book for sure at least in the areas I frequent.
  10. In the 90's while on the printers comp list we got one of everything that came out of 3 printers. 1000's of books, hardcovers, soft covers, trades, it was crazy.
  11. I see no problem with what is being described. CGC has an opinion and sometimes people disagree with them. If you disagree with them and discard their opinion that's fine by me. Do you agree with the CGC grade or the WW grade? I have passed on many CGC graded books and passed on purchasing as I felt they were gift grades. I have done the same with dealers. If I buy a book from a dealer or someone on the boards described as 9.2 raw and I get it and it is 9.4 all day long and I choose to sell it what do I need to disclose? "Bought from Fred as 9.2 but I think it is 9.4" and who did Fred by it from and what was their grade. CGC is good but not infallible. We do not need to kiss their ring on everything. Most copper high grade raw books I look at from certain people are failed pre-screens I suspect.
  12. When I was getting ready to sell my ASM variants of which I had an almost complete run of up to #700 I came here to see why a couple of books I had were selling for so much. Namely of 667 and 678 I bought at an LCS when they came out. These boards helped me get more than I would have not knowing how in demand they were.
  13. I have never seen a comic bleach out to this extreme and not affect every color including Cyan. In this example the Cyan looks untouched. Spidey's suit is still the appropriate % of Cyan (100%). Is there any evidence of other colors on the cover (beside K)? A good place to look would be under the larger areas of black in the logo over Mindworm's hair. If you have a jewelers loop you would be able to see some magenta as the K plate usually overprints other colors except in dialogue boxes with color. The back would have its own plates so would not give any indication to me of this covers issues.
  14. That CVA sticker sure adds a lot to the book. Without it I would only have given around 30K.
  15. I recently had 20 unopened cases straight from the printer of a book I had printed. I went through every book and picked the 30 best to have graded. 27 9.8's and 3 9.6's. Ultimately it was about what I expected though I meant to pre-screen to 9.8 but missed the check box. I had 0 expectations to get anything higher than 9.8.
  16. What it comes down to for me is that 9.8 is really the top and 9.9/10 just seem arbitrary. There are some superb graders on these boards and I have bought my fair share of raw books here but I can not recall ever seeing someone make that claim. Would any of you by a raw comic from a dealer grading it at 10? Even those dealers that are superb graders would be suspect at such a declaration yet CGC has the only graders on the planet that can determine it? Without knowing their criteria/SOP for such a grade it just seems silly to me. There are those that are into those grades and god bless if that is your jam but as for me I am suspect anytime I see one.
  17. I have a bunch of these and I think they are too rigid. I am thinking of swapping out about 250 cases with something else.
