  1. Its already copyrighted . Marvel/Disney own the copyrights. It sucks that your piece got out into the wild but you are in no danger of legal issues from anyone as you haven't done anything. If you go down any artist alley of any convention you will find 100's of copyright violations going on. If an artist is paid by Marvel to illustrate a cover for Spider-Man it does not give that artist rights to sell prints of it. The original art work is theirs but once you make prints that is a clear violation. It is rarely enforced if ever. I bought a ASM 129 cover print that Gerry Conway was selling with his sig. I don't usually go in for these things but I feel for these older artists/writers that were working for peanuts creating some of the most iconic characters while making the owners a lot of money today.
  2. That color breaking crease really is what hurts. A 8.0 can have a 1/4" unnoticeable crease if color is not broken. So for me that eliminates a 8.0. Maybe a 7.5 but the accumulation of spine stress with color breaks and blunted corners for me makes it a 7.0. It is a great looking book but that is what I see.
  3. I am not sure except I never had an opportunity to pay as they canceled it 5 minutes after the end of auction. In that event they never saw my paypal address. My ebay account is set to default to that address. They didn't even try to communicate with me and It would not even let me ask a question so I guess they blocked me. I am inclined to believe he didn't like the final selling price. I played by the rules and they did not. people can choose to do business with them if they want but as for me I believe them to be dishonest.
  4. Absolutely not the case. Shipping address is valid and at my work so USPS does not leave stuff on my porch. I did what I was supposed to do, he did not. He should use comic link etc. if he is scared to abide by ebay policies.
  5. fantasy-comics I won an Iron Man #55 CGC 9.6 for $2200. He immediately canceled the order saying there was something wrong with the address. Which of course is not the case. He then blocked me from being able to contact him or bid on his item. Stay classy Fantasy-comics.
  6. I would say shill for sure. I tend to not buy from people I suspect of shill behavior. Having said that I usually only bid what I think is a fair price and if it is shilled and I win I am not too worried about it.
  7. I don't really do resubs. The book in hand is just beautiful and the scan has some artifacts that may look like tick marks. There is only one at the top staple near his foot. I find that 9.6 copies are great looking books and I will only buy 9.8 when the price is right. I really don't distinguish between the two grades except in price. I like the Oakland copies a lot and would consider an upgrade if they become available. I have some Western Penn copies and those are stunning as well. I don't chase single in grade books, that's just a nightmare waiting to happen. 15k to 7k to 3.5k. Only goes down from there.
  8. I paid $7 for my two copies in 1985. I am going to hunt the shop owner down and demand he return my $4/book back. What a ripoff!
  9. Not for nothing but how is he holding that I beam with his left hand/arm? I thought he only had one Bionic arm.
  10. I believe it landed in the top Iron Man #1-100 set of NEWGIZMO. I am perfectly happy with my copy. Which at $260 may have bee a lot more than others would have paid I was happy with it.
  11. It will sell at a discount with a green label. Despite buying off the stands there is no way to prove it came without the insert. If it is graded high enough I imagine someone will buy it crack it and add the tattoo and resubmit it. That is what I think happens to most of the high grade issues with green labels.
  12. People have different income. To say someone isn't buying what they like because its expensive and therefore is only an investment is silly. I like Iron Man and as my income has increased so has the quality of the books I buy.
  13. I still collect ASM Volume 1 and Iron Man Volume one. Spectacular Spider-man Volume 1 and Web of Spider-man
  14. I know. I understood what you meant just as I knew what the OP meant. That's my point why get bogged down in semantics when you knew what he meant. Why call it out?
  15. You are correct. A book can be a key AND be financially expensive.
  16. I had two copies. But s $10 book then was a big purchase. MTU #1 cost me $10 too and I remember leaving the "convention" without it sat in my moms car then decided to go back in and buy it lol.
  17. Are you saying there are not degrees in importance?
  18. I don't think it was a random adjective. There are keys and they are KEYS. I get the intent of what the OP was saying without getting wrapped up in semantics.
  19. The punisher was always popular. Then when the Steve grant/ Mike Zeck Limited series came out he blew up in popularity. His own series started along with some hard cover graphic novels then some bad movies and a really good Netflix series. I can understand if the character is not your bag but a lot of people like the character. ASM 119-129 run has lots of key things going on.
  20. Maybe if Morbius fails spectacularly I can finally get ASM 101 at an affordable price.
