Who's being entitled? The guy who spends 570$ to not have to wait in line or the guy who spends 80$ and expects to get in ahead of these people?

I agree 100% I'm shocked any time I walk into a con and not asked to see what I have in my bag. I usually have a larger packsack for my comics and lunch and water etc.. I'd have 0 issues with a quick search. I know i'd feel a little safer at least. I got searched going into Rogers Center for a Blue Jays game, Patted down going up the CN tower but walk into the comic con next door with over 100,000 people there and nothing...

Ofcourse they will... If I pay 570$ for VIP tickets which mean no lines anywhere then I expect NO LINES. Why would I want to wait for a bunch of people who paid 80$ for a ticket? For the most part VIP is great for getting all your cgc sig needs done in one fell swoop. I grab a witness from cgc and walk around for about 20 mins and get all my sigs done at once. It's pretty great. I'm not even being douchey but if you don't want to wait, then pony up. Also as you even said vip tickets are Limited. usually 300 or less. Out of those 300 maybe 100 would be there at any given time for Stan. If that. Ok maybe I am being a little douchey haha sorry! It was kinda fun last year to walk past a line of 500 angry people who had been there for hours, right up to Mark Hamill and get my books signed So many looks of death haha

The very first Con I attended was mainly just to meet Stan. I mean its stan freaking lee! My childhood hero! The first day he signed I went to his line up about an hour before the signing to my dismay there were already about 500 people in it! The next day I decided just to line up for him as soon as the con opened. 9am. His signing was at noon. Waited 3 hours, then an extra 45 mins as he was late. I was 3rd in line! So excited! Stan busted thru the curtain and greeted people with Excelsior! and we went nuts, I had my book ready to be signed and cellphone in hand ready to take a pic! Thats when the BS started... Had to wait for about 100 VIPS who just strolled down the vip lane not having to wait 5 mins, watch them get all the books signed and even get a smile out of stan. That took about 45 mins to an hour of more waiting.. Finally us regular noobs got our shot. First thing I saw was some dumb security guy yell at me NO PICTURES OF STAN!!! NO CELLPHONES!! That was a kick in the butt. then as i stated before my book was pretty much snatched out of my hand and thrown on the table, then dragged infront of stan. While he signed I managed to mutter thank you for my childhood stan! And he couldn't even look up or respond to me, my book was already slid across to the next handler and he was signing someone elses. My book was handed back to me and i was told to proceed out of the signing area. I left kinda devistated.. Couldn't believe I spent 200$ on con tickets, 400$ on a airfare, $500 on a hotel and another 100$ for stan lee's sig. and all it got me was 8 seconds infront of the top of his head.... I do believe Anastasias collectables handles for stan. From the bottom of my fanboy heart YOU GUYS SUCK and you'll never get a dime of my money again. As Kev stated here if you can get special tickets to one of his personal events I highly suggest it! I spend extra for VIP now and if Stan's doing the Breakfast thing, you get to actually talk to him, take a selfie with him and get his sig.... Anyways just my little stan story/rant haha

1) No. I pay VIP for no lines at cons, don't wanna wait in line? then cough up the dough. IMHO no one is worth waiting 4 hours in line for tho. 2) I watched a guy have stan sign a deadpool dvd cover I don't get it either but to each their own. 3) I'm not sure Stan even knows whats happening anymore. It's really sad. His handlers push people along so quickly that stan quite litterally won't even lift his head to look at you, let alone repspond to a greeting. I don't like Stan's handlers at all. They don't handle your books very nicely and often drag them across the table.

I attend Fan expo canada every year, (3rd largest north american con) this is my 5th in a row. Not once as any security asked to look at whats in my bag, iv'e never gone thru a metal detector or even looked at twice. I always thought this is a real possibility of happening. Crazy world we live in. It's almost too bad this is making nation headlines tho. Nothing like hanging a sign on the door for Isis I've never felt unsafe at any con iv'e ever attended but the thought of this has always crossed my mind.

You think Marvel/Disney cares if you make money? no as long as they are getting paid. At the end of the day you gotta remember these are Paid Advertising. Hopefully your logo and website on a book will increase webtraffic and drive up other sales. Plus bringing these to a con could again drive other sales at your booth. Iv'e seen stores do really well with these and others who still have huge amounts of inventory left and can't give it away.

My little room isn't near on par with some of these places! But I finally bought a couple shelves and put some things together. It's def a work in progress but now I can show off all my celeb signed books and stuff.

If its the right cover, book, or artist tho the sky is the limit. I know KRS did really well on those Venom Dell'Otto books. Same with comicxposure on those x-23/venom 4 cover books. If you have the support of guys like us on the forums, and get out to conventions I'd think you could do pretty well. But for all those complaining about only wanting to buy the virgin cover by itself, thats why you can't. I personally love most of these sets! I can't wait to get my Natalie sanders, Mattina and dell'otto books signed!

Upwards of 15K Thats just for stock paper, if you want something like a foil or high gloss it goes up from there. Plus you are locked in to printing a minimum print run of each cover. so say cover a is 3000 copies, b is 2000 and c is 1000 Its a ton of inventory to hold on to. If you can sell sets of a b and c together for say 75-100 then you have a decent shot at at least breaking even. Iv'e heard horror stories at some shops having over 2000 copies left after the hype died down on their book and they couldn't give them away at cover price. Its why the book, artist and character mean so much when doing these exclusives.

The cost to produce these sets tho are incredible. Plus if you use Marvel or DC there is a minumum print run you have to commit to. If you don't sell them as sets you'll be stuck with 2000 copies of cover A. Thats why they are sold in sets. The only chance you have to make your money back and hopefully a little profit is to sell them this way. I don't mind paying 75$ for a set of 3 as long as the art and the artist is amazing ie Natali Sanders or Dell'Otto

Babyteeth isn't even an image book. Half the hype of redneck was it was the next crazy huge image book. Plus babyteeth is already being over saturated as iv'e seen over 10 store variants for issue 1. I'm hoping Redneck only cooled down due to the people in the know already have and are hoarding their copies.

I recieved a package today that still says released from customs/in transit. My best advice is don't panic. Canadapost SUCKS. I get stuff shipped from the states all the time, once it hits canada customs will dig their grubby little fingers into it and that sometimes takes 2-4 days for them to release it. after that canada post will just say In transit until the day it is out for delivery. Sometimes they won't even update that.

Depends on the collector IMHO If buying these is the only way to get sick covers by your favorite or a super Hot artist like Natali Sanders then its a no brainer. Even the flippers have been doing well with them.

I'm really stoked with the Comic guests announced so far! I think the "Celeb" co-oridinator needs to pick up their game tho, Other than lena Headey these celebs announced have been beyond lack luster.

This thread is a great idea. There's been a ton of store exclusives lately, most of them pretty damn awesome. My Fav so far is the KRS Guardians of the Galaxy cover by Natali Sanders I love EVERYTHING Natali Sanders does.. i'll throw all my money at an exclusive from her. Kinda feel like Her and Mattina are going to be the next generation of Campbell and Dellotto's.

But it's gotta be the Cliffhanger version of the ruby red? I see these pop up on the bay from time to time. I almost snatched one.. from IDW tho so i'm assuming not as valuable/sought after? So out of the 2 from cliffhanger, The Ruby Red is better than the platinum? Thanks for all the heads up. This is possibly my favorite campbell cover ever and want to get one of these up on my shelf!

Can someone school me a little on the Smoking gun variant? There are so many different versions of this book! What is the most desirable? I know there are two different copies of the Ruby Red Logo, one Cliffhanger, One IDW. there's also the platinum version? and the European version? Which is THE ONE to own?
