This is quite common in industrial auctions, and prevents sniping. It also means sellers tend to achieve prices closer to fair market value, whereas we frequently warn each other on these boards not to sell items on eBay by auction, in case they don’t get noticed.
What is it about this model you don’t like?
The 30/15 minute extended time period is too long unless they are getting bids over fax machines and telegraph.
The 3 minute extension that ComicConnect utilizes seems to be working reasonably well.

Gotta give those guys at Clink some credit. I dropped off the books on Wednesday at 2:30PM and they are already posting them in the next auction.
The best part is I finally got better scans of some of my books compared to the cruddy pics off my ancient phone

Another one that always got pulled out, Jon had a great eye and I was happy to pick up 3 books from his collection. Can't believe that was 7 years ago.

This was the largest bid I ever placed on a PHM book as an auction sniper. Luckily, I won it for 30% of my max bid but that last 10 seconds was nerve racking. It still is the lone single highest graded copy 9 years later.

Another one with crazy gloss and inks
Wish the micro-chamber paper wasn't poking out the bottom. I tried some creative tapping, but could never get it to move.

A couple of Friday Favorites...
There is no scan or picture that can fully capture the gloss and deep fresh inks on this book. Every time I would thumb through the collection, this one always got pulled out and inspected.

Well, this hippie hillbilly and his steadfast jalopy had a most uneventful 1,600 mile round trip up to Portland, ME this week. May have to do a Post-A-Thon before I officially loss my stewardship.

usually USPS works fine, the post system in Japan is really good if there is tracking number it's fine once they even found me with a partial rip off label ... not sure I am confortable with that ahaha ,I don't think I had a parcel lost since I live there (22years) I had more problems with the opposite, sending stuff from japan .
Anyway if you feel it's a pain and just want to stick to USA only it's ok, no problem I won't participate in the sell, I completely understand , I will get the books I am looking for eventually, I am a very patient guy
I'll talk to my local USPS Postmaster and see what she advises. Would really like to open up the sale to the largest audience as possible.
Thanks for the info!

I see you are in Tokyo, I have no idea how to ship things there. I have shipped to Canada and it's a pain. I was planning on this being a USA only sale unless it's easy on both me and the buyer. Any advice would be welcome!

too bad looking for a 9.8 hairless cat ...
Actually it looks more like human hair along with part of a finger. May explain the red spots on the label
I don't call him Scratchy for nothin'.

Got my OSPG (a week early!) and have been scanning books for the sale. Just waiting for the Gemini Mailers to show up at work (used our ULine account to save a few bucks).
Probably start my sales thread after Tax Day.

By the way, the cat got a 9.6, but I had to send it back due to all the scratches and hairs on the inside of the case.

I'm looking for a resource I can use to identify actual release dates for certain books. Currently I'm trying to find the actual release date for Professor Xavier and the X-Men/Over the Edge Flipbook. This was a newsstand only release in the mid-1990's. At best I'm able to find is Nov 95, but that is the "cover" date. The indica also refers it as the publishing date, but we know (generally speaking) that means the book was at least released two months "ish" beforehand.
Mike's Amazing World has quite a bit of information regarding "on sale" dates:
