At this point I think that the integrity of the entire CGC process is so compromised that they should allow everyone (especially FREE “members”) to submit one book of our choosing to be awarded the coveted 9.8 grade.  Shoot, seems like everyone else got what they wanted!

Are Terrazas’ books anywhere on “a list” for us to check?  What’s the point anymore?  Seriously!  The world’s most trusted third party grader hires thieves that steal customer’s property, slam books in whatever label, etc.  Now speculate about the integrity of the SS program if one dude can put whatever book with whatever label.

I think this is the literal tip of the iceberg!

Did this duo think of up this plan or did they just copy someone else?

So, I’m not a “tech solves everything” person - despite, or because of - it being my field of expertise.  But it seems obvious CGC needs to value what it can do for them much more highly.  One visit to the website will tell you that, let alone going through the submission process.

These boards are an absolute treasure but I literally got a brand new phone last week and it still take a minute for a page to load.  The software is insanely out of date.

I wonder if it’s a case of lack of understanding of options available or thinking they can’t do it, or what.  I don’t automatically assign malice to it, but man they need help.

As far as the board loading slowly - noticed that the Facebook add at the bottom of the page template is often the cause of the delay.

Ok so now I feel like there are definitely easy security misses here.  Amazon can find your package on a shelf in some random warehouse at any given point in its journey using cameras and ai.  If there was any tracking of what book is where and surveillance of storage area this guy would have gotten busted way before 27 books went missing that HE removed from storage.  Or am I missing something?

    Not missing anything.

    Serious chain of custody issues.

Mr. Terrazas would then submit for grading each of the stolen comic books and then publicly advertise, consign, or sell the comic books on eBay or at trade shows

Think the defendant was using a personal account to slide the books thru the system - so they would be shipped to their residence. They may never have removed books from the premises - they gamed the system.

The registry is definitely not a price guide but the points system is loosely based on Overstreet prices. Books with white pages are valued higher. I don't suggest lowering scores for OWW etc. but there should be positive scaling for page quality. Nobody loses points but slight increases for page quality which is already in the code and part of the grading system.

Imagine two competing complete sets where one has all OWW and the other WPs. The scores being identical makes zero sense.

Overstreet does not break out pricing by page quality, only grade.

What about extra points for perfect centering, or bettor ink colors or ideal staple placement? Those things are at least visible thru the slab (unlike White pages).

None of those are feasible as well since they are all subjective, just like page quality.

I think one can quibble about ST #101, JIM #85, FF #12, Sgt. Fury #1, TTA #44, and TOS #52, but many of these issues had a massive effect on the MCU.

    Really nice presenting copies :headbang:

Good to know! I'll try to adjust that memory of knowledge ☺️ if it'll fit lol

I didn't want to forego the conversation because I know it isn't the only option, in this case not one, it was just what I had remembered 😂 haha

I'll try to remember in the future as those who had it suggested never reported back that I saw whether viable. In short thanks for the correction 💯

    All good man! (thumbsu

The LTL freight truck had a pallet jack and a lift-gate so it was very easy to load and unload the pallet anywhere.

Not to forego your conversation, but when it's been brought up before, it's been mentioned to rent a van as the cheapest option or uhaul.

    Depending on distance

I think with uhaul you can even rent it in CT and return it to any uhaul place upon destination, if I remember correctly. I forget.

    Food for thought

Having recently rented cars, SUVs and UHaul trucks - they are significantly more expensive than other shipping options once all the fees, insurances, taxes, travel costs, etc, are factored into the equation.

Last December, I shipped a pallet full of network switches via LTL half-way across the country and it cost around $450.
