  1. The original is located at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and it is stunning. Huge and beautiful!
  2. Don't miss out on the Farrell books (before they were known as Ajax)!
  3. Beautiful pulps! The back cover illustration by James Settles is gorgeous. I didn't realize he could do work of that quality. I love the skeleton pirate flag. That's the back cover??? I love it!
  4. I love the cover to Punch 12. For some reason, I used to see it a little more frequently around 5 years ago. Doesn't show up too often now.
  5. Are we going to live long enough to see you post an Action 2 in this thread? ::
  6. Nice Speed pages! Was the story signed, and if not, how did you find out who illustrated them?
  7. Did you see the recreation of this cover that Cole did in the 80s? It sold recently at Heritage. http://comics.ha.com/common/view_image_only.php?img=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.ha.com%2Flf%3Fsource%3Durl%5Bfile%3Aimages%2Finetpub%2Fnewnames%2F300%2F5%2F0%2F8%2F2%2F5082906.jpg%5D%2Ccontinueonerror%5Btrue%5D%26source%3Durl%5Bfile%3Aimages%2Finetpub%2Fwebuse%2Fno_image_available.gif%5D%2Cif%5B('global.source.error')%5D%26sink%3Dpreservemd%5Btrue%5D
  8. Agreed that there are other black covers by Cole, but I like Mask 1 and 2, Contact 12 and Captain Flight together as a set. No cover text besides the title and similar color palette.
  9. I'd bet that it would be near impossible to pick out the panels done by Schultz. Cartoonists are often good mimics in order to blend-in with other artists' styles.
  10. This is one of my favorite Shadow covers.... love the silver, and the image of the Shadow is iconic.
  11. A few years ago, I saw Punch 12s in multiple places simultaneously. Nothing now?
  12. This issue has "The Call of Cthulhu", correct? Amazing condition!
  13. My jaw drops every time I see this painting... The condition looks to be phenomenal... Do you know anything about who owned it previously and how it was displayed or stored?
  14. Actually, the cover is by Gus Ricca (Gasparo "Gus" Ricca).
  15. Mr. Scarlet and Pinky? And people called Batman and Robin gay.... These two make them look like testoterone-ridden ladies men. Mr. Scarlet comes complete with John Waters mustache.
  16. I can't recall seeing such a complete package that features every element of the comic book creative process from a book as early as that. Of course it wasn't published, but the majority of the published stuff ended up in the garbage, or if anything did survive, it was only the inked pages.
  17. I was just telling a friend of mine a couple days ago about that movie! The beginning of that film FREAKED ME THE F*SPOON* OUT when I was a kid.
  18. Thanks for posting! Man, that book looks beautiful!
  19. Master Comics #27 Young Men #24 - Human Torch Young Men #24 - Captain America Young Men #24 - Sub-Mariner
