  1. I don't buy or sell too often on the Boards, but if I have transacted with you, could you please provide feedback below? Thanks!
  2. Final price drop on a pre-code horror VOODOO #3, a scarce and desirable book that I never see for sale. This book features a nasty interior panel of a man being stabbed in the face by a woman with a dagger. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5207814#Post5207814
  3. Top notch seller. Buy with confidence!
  4. Holy c r a p !!!! You have to be thrilled with that purchase. These could be the brightest, most colorful and least damaged versions of those covers.
  5. I'm a big fan of contemporary art and comic art, but in his case, I'm offended that he profited through outright theft.
  6. That's not entirely true. I'm sure his estate is paid when the works are used in publications and I'd be shocked if countless prints haven't been made of those stolen images. And perhaps that's the ultimate irony.... the original comic artists probably didn't make a dime on reprints of their work from DC or Marvel, however Lichty make millions off of reprinting the work stolen from it.
  7. The 20th century has a lot of artist frauds, but Lichtenstein is probably the head of the pack. Lichtenstein didn't "breath new life" into the artwork, he stole it. Duchamp (a true artist, and the R. Mutt urinal is certainly not his most significant contribution) re-purposed an object that wasn't intended to be considered art.
  8. Anyone ever see one of these before? This is a serialized novel for women printed in pulp format in 1932:
  9. Speaking of Weird Tales, I'd like to have a low grade copy of Feb 1928. Anyone have one they will part with?
  10. Thanks for the link... According to the seller (responding to my query), he has owned the books for 30 years and decided that it was time to part with them. Very nice copies!
  11. I just listed a big selection of vintage 1950s and 60s sci-fi paperbacks in Misc. Available to the Boards first. Check 'em out! http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5129025#Post5129025
  12. That logo design is reminiscent of Weird Mysteries but your comment did make me stop and think about what logos I liked better and the answer was very, very few. Tales from the Crypt might be my favorite and Beware Terror Tales is also strong but I wish there were more like Black Cat. The absolute best horror logos to me are Bill Everett's in his Venus and other Atlas horror stories but those were not used for covers. Nice pickups. Nice choices. I really like the Farrell 'Haunted Thrills' logo and the Cole Blue Bolt Weird and Mask Comics logos.
  13. I think the Iger Shop horror stories are anything but inferior. I find them clever and humorous, and the art never disappoints.
  14. Whoever chose the colours for that cover really had their aesthetics together... it OOZES mood. I really like the moodiness of the cover also, and being the first of the first horror series is a great bonus. Another bonus for me is that the book is in the DCM. Now I don't have to crack it out to read it. Usually when I see this book, the cover is in rough shape. That's a really nice copy.
  15. Love the BCM #35 cover... never noticed that one before.
  16. I doubt that they will let people walk up and put money into it. I suspect that they'll demonstrate the machine for visitors. The difference between an arcade machine and a comic book is that the latter (outside of Geppi's place) has no place to see them in public. There are places that preserve and show vintage arcade machines (such as the wonderful Musee Mechanique in San Francisco). This story brought this town to my attention, and now I'm very curious and would like to visit.
  17. You beat me to it. This clown is the worst kind of collector in my opinion... one who wants all the toys locked up so no one can see them. I'm a big fan of vintage arcade machines and I'm thrilled that something like this can be viewed by the public.
  18. It's too tough to put these in order... Steranko Raboy John Buscema L.B. Cole Briefer Wolverton Jack Cole Schomburg Jerome Rozen Winsor McKay Krigstein
  19. Batman 227 is very overrated. It wouldn't make my Top 10 Adams books.
  20. It's not my book and I don't know the seller, but there is a really nice Contact #12 on eBay right now for what I consider to be a reasonable price. If I didn't have my copy already, I'd buy this one.
