  1. I've probably seen about 10-15 Cole reproductions, but never one of this cover. I'd love to see it if it exists! One of my favorites!
  2. One of my favorite Cole covers! You're fortunate to find a copy in that grade... it's tough, obviousy, due to the black cover. Highly sought after Cole cover... usually sells immediately when it comes up for sale.
  3. Has anyone seen the original NF #6 cover? I don't believe I have... it's possible it was on display at the convention by Steranko himself and wasn't on the market.
  4. Nice books, Collin! Journey Into Fear is an Iger Studio book (they did all the Superior books along with the Farrell/Ajax books). I always find those Iger horror stories to be entertaining.
  5. There is no bigger fan of Supersnipe than Collin.... please hook him up with some original art!
  6. Perfect for high school kids ....... you can pull out a gun when a friend asks you for a smoke A laugh riot when you get pulled over by a trooper on the NJ Turnpike!
  7. Awesome Matt Fox! Man, I wish he did more comics in the 50s. He inked some stuff for Atlas, but I wish he was drew full stories for a horror title.
  8. Great set, Billy! Does any title have as many title logo changes as Silver Streak?
  9. Wow! What an awesome collection of Fight Comics! Love the covers in that run.
  10. Congrats on a beautiful book Andy!!! Star books in condition that nice are hard to come by. Fantastic find!
  11. Wow... I didn't know that Lovecraft ghost-wrote a story for Houdini! Thanks for the info...
  12. Right... the turned-up nose made me think it could be Briefer, but Cole also makes sense. It was obviously done by a talented cartoonist, and there were none greater than Cole.
  13. Is the top page by Briefer? That Hangman splash page is terrific!
  14. Considering the *SPOON* coloring that we get in modern reprints, I'd much rather have a bound volume of originals. I wish all publishers would scan actual pages instead of re-coloring them.
  15. I prefer the Suspense 8 cover to STT 11. In my opinion, STT #11 is a bit overrated compared to the Sci-Fi classic trio and his better Star covers. Cole's Star output ranged from stellar to sub-par. Thrilling Crime #49 and Startling Terror Tales #5 (Gruesome Demon of Terror) is a killer Star cover while others such as Startling Terror #14 aren't so hot.
  16. I think Marie Severin thought the same thing and colored it that way
  17. In my opinion, this is one of the most underrated pre-code books. What else could one want? A Baily cover featuring a shrunken head pulled out of a hat? Come on now! I love this cover.
  18. Here's my list. Can you add any? Ace Web Of Mystery #8 ACG Adventures into the Unknown #33 Atlas Adventures Into Terror #15 Atlas Marvel Tales #105 Atlas Uncanny Tales #26 Avon Witchcraft #3 Harvey Witches Tales #12 Standard Out Of The Shadows #10 Star Publications Startling Terror Tales #11 Weird Comics #18 Come on now! Suspense Comics #8 !!!
