    I'm guessing this is common damage on comics that haven't been bagged or boarded. A piece of the bottom left spine (and occasionally the top left) gets "worn" away from sitting in a box with no bag or board to protect it. How does this factor in when grading a book? If it weren't for this spine corner wear, this Ghost Rider 1 would be at least a 7.0, but I'm wondering if this wear drops it to a 5.0 or lower? How have you guys seen this type of damage affect a grade? Thanks!

    Comic book first appearances are like trying to learn the English language. There are hard and fast rules, but so many exceptions that it makes you question your own sanity.

    My guess is SC30 gets more attention because Aquaman is on the cover. I prefer Adventure 260 for the same reasons stated above. I also think it's the first time he's referred to as Arthur Curry (?) I suppose a technical argument could be made that Adventure 229 is his first Silver Age appearance, in that the Silver Age began in October 1956.... but the real definitive SA changes didn't begin until 260.

    There's a guy selling the C for 25 bucks on Ebay. Honestly that's a pretty small markup so I snagged a copy myself. Which is bizarre when you think about it. After shipping/fees, he's either taking a loss or breaking close to even at best.
