Here it is everyone! With all the travel out east to PMC40 and travel back it's taken a while to ensure I'll have everything in order to make copies available online. Have a great week!

Thanks, I got lucky with it here on the boards. It sat for a bit too, I was sure I had blown my chance (was moving some funds around and waiting on some sales proceeds).

My thinking is like yours but in reverse - I thought, I just laid down a decent (for me) chunk of change on this 3rd print, should I really be spending another almost $150 on another reprint? But I think these 40th anniversary reprints - at least the one from Rich for my taste - are cool on a lot of levels, and it's apparent that a lot of work went into making them happen. So I couldn't pass on it.

Exactly. At the end of the day there are a bunch of reprints. All with their own unique touch. But this last one, as of now appears to be the one true reproduction of the original. Pretty cool story behind it if you ask me.

When BeardedBubba first posted the link last night, it said there were "20 left in stock" on the red cover and I think 100 or 120 in stock on the black and white cover. So it appeared from that like a limited drop for that particular sale.

Correct but that was through the Portsmouth Mini Con site. That might have only been their copies. TMNT collection web page should have their own I would think. Maybe even a few get put up on Jetpack since they have yet to load them on their site.

Damn, I missed Rich's version.  But looks like the Portsmouth site doesn't ship to Canada anyways.

I saw a WhatNot sale of Rich's go for around $260 last night and the Jetpack for over $200 also.

Hoping Rich will have more for sale on his own site and I can catch one there.  His site ships to Canada...although shipping gets very expensive.

I would think more should pop up soon. Print run was almost 10k apparently. I would be amazed if they ran through all that so quickly at $125.

Frank Miller is doing some CGC Remaques ($320), Head Sketch ($1085) and Full Figure Sketch ($2085) - these seem quite high prices.

    1.  What do people think?  Is it worth it generally?  I hear it is really a hit and miss situation

    2.  Whilst the price difference between Remaque and Head Sketch (cost three times) is quite large - is it worth three times?

Interested to hear people's views before I plonk a few thousand for this as I am a newbie when it comes to CGC sketch slabs.

Personally I don't think its worth it because he is getting older and the quality of the art is starting to suffer a bit. But if you really need to get a piece from him then it is what it is...might be your only shot.

Rob certainly isn't Todd or Jim Lee but I honestly can't understand how anyone can hate his artwork.

I have him ranked somewhere around 5th or 6th among the original Image artists.

He is better than Todd and Lee. Where is Lee now? and Todd is to busy making toys lol come on now...

Your post had me waxing nostalgic for this book and had to pull it out and look it over again.  It was purchased at the height of Frank Miller mania (before he was making regular appearances).  I knew I wanted it inked and had an opportunity to have it done by the Miller’s inker the great Klaus Janson.  Was just as impressed then as I am now……

I love his stuff too.   It was so dynamic at the time.    Holds up pretty well, but kinda mind blowing when I was 12.

Yup, and thats also how I feel about Rob Liefeld. Zeck was a little before my time. I grew up on Rob's art, and it also blew my mind in the early 90's and I still love his stuff till this day. I dont care what anyone thinks lol

:canofworms:  Well, if you mean his appeal... to me.  Yeah, kind of.  Those last 2 covers have the weird Zeck faces.  And I remember the whole Zeck / Phil Zimmelman thing was a big deal back in the day.  Also, I know it's supposedly an iconic cover but it's funny to see Wolvie and Cap sparring.  Noone has to worry about bidding against me for Zeck art.  :nyah:

I am a huge Zech fan. As a big Punisher fan, I grew up loving his covers. But I agree with you, some of the faces, like the Captain America images up there can look a little funky. Still love his art though.

After several years of squeezing every dollar into comic art, this year I finally purchased a few other toys that brought joy to my everyday life in the form or two new guitars.  During the pandemic I sold a lot of my guitar collection and even a 90s Acura NSX in order to move all funds into art.  I don't regret it for a second, but I also decided to take a breath and recoup some of the things I gave up along the way.

Wow you got rid of an NSX! That is still my dream car till this day!

  11. I recently picked up a GI Joe piece myself. Here is a un-used cover for Snakes Eyes Deadgame #1 by Rob Liefeld. It’s just a tad bit different from the cover he actually decided to publish for the book. Super stoked to own another piece from my favorite artist. He also signed and added his chizel sig at the bottom just like the published OA. The second pic is the actual OA he went with, which I don’t own.

I think it's more interesting than an identical copy signed by the artist without the quote, but I think it would be more valuable if the signature and quote were written by the actor.

Agreed. If the actor did it then we are talking. Done by the cover artist is kind of whatever.
