  1. Good luck Sha! Those vividly colored covers are the envy of Planet collectors and so hard to come by. Color >>> grade (IMHO)
  2. Great interiors! I’ve read this before and I don’t remember either! Time to take this book out of the vault for a fresh read.
  3. Final bump! ** Priced to sell... price reduced to $4,750 ** Grab this great off-white/white copy of Silver Age comic book history! Prices are only going to rise on this book. (Thread will close tomorrow night, Monday)
  4. I assume you mean the comic, and not the Census Bureau documentation beneath it.
  5. I got my copy from boardie Soft-Serve, whose Planet collection had some of the most vividly colored covers I’ve ever seen. Bonus: Mysta of the Moon splash page, by artist unknown, with touch-ups by Charles Sultan (as per comics.org). I wouldn’t trust that robot.
  6. Time for a Price reduction to $5,000 for payment by check or money order!!
  7. From the living legend on the boards! Thanks Jack!
  8. One book for sale: Brave and the Bold #28, CGC 4.0. OFF-WHITE to WHITE pages. $5,250. *** FINAL PRICE DROP: $4,750. This thread will close tomorrow (Monday night)... There’s very few mid-grade copies with off-white/white pages out there, and this book shows extremely well, with strong cover colors, including the greens on Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter, which often look faded or even muddy brown. An off-white copy sold for $4,564 in Oct. 2017. Payment via money order or check is preferred. Please pay within 3 days unless prior arrangements are made. Returns will be accepted on raw books within a week of receipt. No returns on slabbed books. If you are new to the boards, a well-established boardie will need to vouch for you. Shipping costs: US Shipping: $15 for slabs. $7 for raw. Canada Shipping: $25 for slabs. $15 for raw. Overseas Shipping at cost, and only if discussed with me through PM prior to "I'll take it." (or the verbal equivalent) trumps all PM negotiations. Ongoing negotiations will be canceled in favor of an unequivocal TAKE in thread or through PM.
  9. Jon Berk insists that this is a George Tuska cover. He spoke in person with Tuska, who told Berk that he did this cover. Berk even ordered a commission from Tuska to paint a recreation of the cover.
  10. Fasten your seatbelt! It's a bumpy ride en route through Weird Adventures on Other Worlds! Great looking 1.8! Not an easy book to find in any grade. (Like so many of the Planet issues, alas.)
  11. A bump and a 25% price drop on all three books! Tales from the Crypt #32 (5.5) -- was $400, now $300 Planet Comics #53 (4.5) -- was $250, now $187.50 Adventure Comics #43 (2.5-3.0 restored) -- was $550, now $412.50
  12. This series (and Weird Fantasy) never gets the love it deserves; covers and stories combine into some of the best comics of the GA.
  13. Depends on what type of cheese you're offering! Definitely not that Laughing Cow stuff...
  14. Adventure Comics #43 (October 1939) – 2.5-3.0 restored – $550 *** NOW $412.50 *** This book just doesn’t come around that often and has been picking up steam. It’s the first all-color issue in the series, with a classic Fred Guardineer cover. And one of the earliest appearances of The Sandman, by Bert Christman. Hard to resist, I know! This copy has taken a bit of a beating, with tape along the spine, corner and edge wear, and small dabs of purple and red ink near the propeller of the sinking ship (see photo). A reader to be enjoyed by young and old alike!
  15. Planet Comics #53 – 4.5 – $250 *** NOW $187.50 *** Classic cover used in SOTI. First Matt Baker work for Planet Comics! -- see last photo for Baker's splash page of Mysta. Book shows some general cover wear at left upper corner, staining at staples, and some back cover chipping, but otherwise a solid copy that holds together well, with GGA abounding.
  16. Tales from the Crypt #32 – 5.5 – $400 *** now $300 *** A simply fantastic Jack Davis/woman in peril cover. Two classic stories that are well worth the read: ‘Tain't the Meat… It’s the Humanity (Jack Davis) Squash… Anyone? (Graham Ingels) Book lies flat, great color covers. The only thing holding this back at a 5.5 is a front cover chip near lower right corner and slight scuffing on back cover.
  17. A few old books. Take 25% off original listed prices!!! Payment via PayPal is preferred, but money order or check will also be accepted. Payment is due within 7 (seven) business days. Returns will be accepted on raw books within a week of receipt. If you are new to the boards, a well-established boardie will need to vouch for you. Shipping costs: US Shipping: $7. Canada Shipping: $15. Overseas Shipping at cost, and only if discussed with me through PM prior to "I'll take it." (or the verbal equivalent) trumps all PM negotiations. On-going negotiations will be canceled in favor of an unequivocal in thread or through PM.
  18. I'll see if those were included in the book...
  19. I like the book a lot. The reproduced artwork is high quality, definitely a lot better than what the PS Artbooks series achieved with their Planet Comics volumes. Looks like at some point, Craig Yoe got involved, and so a newer (or juiced up) version of the book was released, with a "Free Bonus Book Inside: The Art of Joseph Doolin." This is the version I bought, which contains all those fabulous Doolin cover pencils, and is almost worth the price alone. Perhaps ye boardies might recall that the author of the book (Mitch Maglio) visited us on the boards, in 2016 I think, asking for any high quality scans of covers, interiors, and original art. I was pleased to see that the book includes my OA splash page from Lily Renee's 'Werewolf Hunter' in Rangers Comics #34. So I guess I'm biased toward the book... Did anyone else's scans make it into the book?
  20. +1 for the covers. +10 for the insides!
