  1. One can reasonably conclude that you pressed the red-hot button and landed a big whale!
  2. I'm partial to the "disable live bidding" button; helps minimize costly accidents!
  3. Alright Steve. Bring on the kraken 6.0! (I think you posted it not too long ago, but "one of FH's best" -- which I agree with -- deserves an encore, any time, any thread!
  4. Pretty crummy looking copy in my opinion. Though no worse than the 2.0 copy for $3,500 that's been sitting on the Metropolis website for, like, 20 years.
  5. Just Terrific! In-the-air bondage -- a neat twist on a classic theme.
  6. Strong work! You’re not monkeying around, I can tell you that!
  7. Well done indeed! I dropped out well before the final hammer on the National 7. Big time congrats! ?
  8. You should be running the auction! Maybe you'd get better prices for those Bats!
  9. In keeping with the theme of my always being one step behind @Ricksneatstuff, here is my recent sweet 17 pickup:
  10. Agree on those comments about Lou Fine, @Scrooge. Fine is my fav. But there were many imitators, some because they were simply inspired by Fine's spectacular work, others because their editors told them to. But of course imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and all that. In this context, I would rate Fine and Kirby as having been most flattered.
  11. +1 for Fletcher Hanks. Talk about distinctive, both his art and his stories. There’s no reprieve for the wicked in Fletcher’s world. I don’t think he did any covers (perhaps I’m wrong about this?), so here’s his ‘Fantomah’ story from Jungle #11. Enjoy!
  12. Hmm. Interesting. So technically, you might be able to remove the CT and "unrestore" it to a 7.5. Anyhow, it is an absolutely gorgeous book.
  13. That's an insanely colorful copy of that book. Super congrats! Nice to see you have such a good relationship with CGC. Only the top players get the royal treatment, e.g., Universal grade with color touch
  14. Sadly even the reader copies no longer come cheap, and the reprints have the wrong smell!
  15. And a couple fun pages from Jungle 11, including first page splash:
  16. This just in: Jungle 11. A low grade copy, with a 2x2-inch piece out of the bottom corner of the back cover along the spine, two 1.5x1.5-inch pieces out of the top corner of two interior pages, minimally affecting the art, and some assorted front cover wear and tear. But for these 3.0 grade flaws, I’m psyched to have 8.0 cover colors and ow pages. This is a nice example of how inconsistent the color strike could be at at Fiction House, presumably the initial batch of pages coming off the printings press had the the color vividness seen here: And as an example for comparison, the 8.0 Rockford:
