  1. Thanks Corey! That means a lot coming from a seasoned veteran like yourself!
  2. A good auction. Landed the two books I was targeting. Dream books.
  3. Well done Sir. Wish I’d bid you up higher!
  4. That’s a beaut! Second appearance of the Spectre. Plus, a corset!
  5. I can confirm that there was no doddling around!
  6. Yes! That’s the drama I was looking for! You ended up with a steady companion that never questions your comic buying habits. What more can one ask for? World peace?
  7. Haha! Sort of a “foot in mouth” (or foot in buttock!) moment . That is a glorious book! I’m in awe. Any drama behind its acquisition?
  8. Yes, I recall this story of yours. But it's always worth repeating! Good stuff, and a kind soul you are. I might (= might) be willing to bargain if you can land me the Larson Planet #2.
  9. Hey Steve, thanks for the back story on the Larson Planets. I didn't know about any of that! I always assumed that Larson's name had graced many more Planet covers. Planet #7 has a cover date of July 1940. Wasn't Larson in the middle of his collecting spree at that time? Any explanation why there aren't more? Yes, the Larson copy of Planet #6 now has a new shepherd, thanks to the mighty Jon Berk. It is a real jewel of my Planet run :-)
  10. RE: Science Comics #2 The label says it's a Larson copy, but I don't see Larson, Lamont, La, or any other signifier. It does look like at the bottom part of the "O" in the Science Comics title/banner,there's some faint text that had been erased, but I can't make out the letters. Does anyone have any insights into what makes this a Larson?
  11. So I guess that means you won it above guide?
  12. Awesome "D" book, Gino. Congrats on the ped. And you can't go wrong with an enemy who calls himself Dr. Weerd!
  13. Now THAT’S intriguing! Sounds like there’s more of a story there? (And I think my lone copy would feel much better sitting beside the Larson. Yep. )
  14. I posted this back in the “Show your best of 2017” thread, but figured it was still worth a smoke.
  15. Flex, you are truly one of the wise men on the Fiction council. That link to the Twilight Zone and Star Trek is brilliant!
  16. Yes, that’s some fantastic colors! Quite crisp. Thanks for posting it!
  17. Planet Comics is part of the Fiction House line of comics! Here’s a fairly early one (Nov. ‘42) that doesn’t get a lot of attention. Some nice violets and greens on the cover, plus one of Zolnerowich’s cooler horse-beast passenger mounts. And this is where the Lost World got its start; splash page with the first shots of Hunt and Lyssa (by none other than the inimitable Rudy Palais), later issues to be drawn with aplomb by Lily Renee.
  18. A new twist on the ol’ Adam and Eve thing? (post-apple bathing suits of course)
