  1. This? (a bit of a beater copy, but Oh the colors!)
  2. Hey! For a guy who says he doesn't like Fiction House (cf: "What's a GA book that everyone wants, but means nothing to you" thread), you're spending much more time here than might be expected by a random click of the GA thread topics!
  3. Super new sig line!!! (that was meant for entalmighty; but of course the same can be said for Gino!)
  4. Thanks Supernerd! (To be honest, isn’t everyone on these GA boards a supernerd?) You’re right, that page of yours really does flow nicely. There’s great drama unfolding with the arrival of the spaceship, and then the big reveal -- totally bizarre sponge aliens. This page is a winner.
  5. Beautiful piece! If @Ricksneatstuff hadn't run up the price for the Lost World splash page from Planet #37 in the same Berk auction , I might've been tempted to chase after this one. Glad to see it went to a boardie.
  6. Twas a good evening last night: green Eagles, green dinosaur, purple dinosaur.
  7. Whoa, Gino, what a great string of books! I've never seen that Mystic #2 -- totally insane awesomeness!!! On that Science #1, I've never been able to figure out what that device is exactly. To me it looks more like a tattoo needle or an electrical stimulator gadget. But who knows -- they were just making things up in the Golden Age!
  8. Well, with such a washed-out cover, no wonder Tec 35 isn't on your list, @Knightsofold ! I think the cover is among the most savage and gritty early Bats covers, with a great color palate, not to mention the key splash page that @Larryw7 points out. And a great story to boot. Full disclaimer: I love hypodermic syringe covers. They're so, like, 1940.
  9. Agree. And also covers showing overly sadistic torture moments where there's no escape; I'm thinkin' Underworld Crime #7 and related.
  10. A man, an amazing-man, reduced to the form of a snake, on his belly, no feet no hands (technically speaking), eating a snake. In red underpants. Insightful commentary on the human condition? Or, maybe not a formula for long-term appeal?
  11. I was too bashful to say so . But YES -- DEFINITELY -- NO QUESTION.
  12. Very cool, RM! Very little attempt to change the layout and details much at all. I think the pulp is the better version. More nuanced yet more perky.
  13. Looks tasty. Hey Rick, that bowl of ramen should be your new avatar! It’s every bit as luscious as your current avatar.
  14. Doggone it! Everyone got a name, except for the long-eyed hound.
  15. I see a Jumbo 10. Is there a Jumbo 1 lurking in there somewhere?
  16. Golly! You've really outdone yourself this time! One of Joe Simon's best. And one of Fox's best. And one of Mystery Men's best. And one of Larson's best. And now one of your best! Wish I'd gone to Yorba Linda; would've arm wrestled you for it!
  17. Yep, that's the one. Not my favorite. Doolin dialed this one in, if it is even Doolin. Poses are frozen, postures are awkward, eyes are blank, color spectrum of orange and green is bleh, action is meh, her waist is an impossibility. But as one of 73 cherished Planets, it too has a place in the canon.
  18. OK. "It isn't so." Not with a copy like that! Any covers you're not willing to champion? If I had to pick one, it'd be #46.
  19. Good point. But I like the extra shine it brings to the cover. And the stamp of individuality: it may be the only Planet 3 with tape just so!
  20. Holy Fiction House! I think if most copies of this book looked as spectacular as these two, then Planet #3 would easily rival the best of them. I agree with Steve that #3 (and #4) get overshadowed by #1, 2, 5, and 6. Here is my copy, a CGC 5.5 o/w ("1 piece of tape on spine of cover"):
  21. That is laugh out loud funny!! ? And I don’t even know why! Is this better? — Yes, someone should lodge a complaint with the Port of Hippfrancisco.
