  1. @telerites beat me to this one with his nice copy on pg. 2. Here's mine:
  2. Yes, someone should lodge a complaint with the Port Hippthority.
  3. OOF! That's gotta hurt. A sucker punch to the lobster plexus.
  4. Great pick-up. And I'll bet those toads are super happy!
  5. Well done Gino! I had a tracking bid on this, but figured it probably had your name on it! Your Blue Beetle trifecta is a wrap.
  6. My first time participating in this. Lots of great pieces on show! Thanks to the 9 people with clearly impeccable taste () who voted for the Lily Renee "Lost World" splash page. I hope I have something to contribute for 2018 Best Of. -Jay
  7. This whole pq thing. I don’t quite get it. How many pages need to be tan in order to label it “tan” pages? Seems an arbitrary designation, much like the sb designation, which can be slapped onto a label with a whisper of a page flake. Does pq reduce to the absolute lowest, e.g., in a 64-page book of dentine white page luminescence, with just one single tan page, does the book get labeled as “tan to white” pages? Put differently, is there any rhyme or reason here?
  8. Thus spake the Bard of All Planet Knowing, and thus confirmeth anew that the Bard is true and just and lo! mental.
  9. Praise the Comic Gods for those cycles. Without them I'd be nowhere in my effort to complete my run. Let's face it, Gerber aside, Planets 1-20 are all just really hard to find.
  10. Very cool book! Heath was a class act. 23 days! I could see going without food for 23 days, but going without a new comic for 23 days just doesn't seem humanly possible!
  11. That's another impressive Nemo! Winsor McCay was so far ahead of his time... in fact, I'm not sure anyone has yet caught up to him! I hadn't realized these Sunday sheets are so uncommon, or I might have pushed harder at the Berk auction; there was also another spectacular Nemo page in that auction, dated March 11, 1906, perhaps this sold to someone on the boards...?
  12. Very cool! Are the colors much brighter on the inner cover? It looks like it is from the photo, but it's a bit hard to tell.
  13. Could be worth the $5 to know what accounts for the 4.5. Maybe spine splits? Though oftentimes those notes are rather less than informative... Or forget about it, and just be super psyched with that great looking copy-- while reminding yourself of that comforting mantra: Buy the Book Not the Grade.
  14. Ohhhhh, I get it now. Well how about dem apples!
  15. Looks great! Those colors are vivid and the cover presents way better than the assigned grade!
  16. Just sifted through this great thread. So many cool strips. The colors on a lot of those Flash Gordons are amazing. Here is my recent pickup, courtesy of Jon Berk. Had this framed for my office. Interestingly, there's not too many Nemo pages in this thread, though of the few I saw, the one that @Ameri posted is the same! Serendipity.
  17. Hi Shortboxed. That would be Planets #53-59. Though Robot Man kinda flipped the order. From left to right: Top row: 57-59 Bottom row: 53-56 In case you’re not aware, these are two great online resources: https://www.comics.org/ http://comicbookplus.com/
  18. Great books! And also a well-deserved shout-out for Joe Doolin, whose Planet covers in this stretch of the run were some of his finest.
  19. Nice looking copies of #65, gentlemen. If you have a decent (or indecent) undercopy for sale, PM me!
