    Where's all the show reports?

I found it too crowded for my liking. I can live with waiting my turn to get into a longbox, but those aisles were crammed to the point where they were barely passable.

I thought it was crowded as well, a little tight for the space but for as busy as it was there seemed to be a ton of time to actually chat with the writers/artists. Shows are so much more enjoyable when you aren't constantly dealing with reps pushing people through as fast as possible.

Some of these prices are indeed eye opening. However one thing that i am curious about. In the past when sellers have come on asking where is the best place to sell their  original artwork the general consensus has been to send it to Heritage. I am now wondering if Comiclink has become the better avenue for selling original artwork or would these same pieces of artwork that sold on Comiclink for incredible prices sold for even higher prices at Heritage.

I recently consigned a ton of art and ComicConnect and Heritage both got right back to me while Comiclink never replied to a voicemail or email.

You better look again. At least the stuff I’m looking at all has it.

I've bought a handful of pages and just looked and none of them had a buyer's premium. If you look at the auction the pages that do have a premium state it.

IMHO it's currently hobby for those who got in earlier or are wealthy.  It's also not hobby that needs to have large influx of new collectors to say strong. Due to the one-of-kind nature even small or tiny number of those getting into the hobby are more than adequate to keep prices a jumpin'. Simply put it's not a hobby that needs a constant flow of new blood a few drops every now and then is more than enough.

I don't want to appear cold, and apologies if I do, but unless you have wealth the time to get into most OCA has long, long since passed and finding other hobby interests are recommended. Or go the sketch route, I know people who only do that and they seem very happy. In fact they appear to be more at peace compared to pretty much any art collector I know including myself.

Not to jump on you but there is so much quality art from big name artists under $300, and even cheaper than that. There are absolutely price points for everyone and all it takes is some quick googling. You're definitely not getting a Jim Lee cover at that price but there are thousands of great story pages and even cool splash pages to find with some searching.

I checked with David at Spanishhq already and from what I can tell Splashpage has never listed any of the issue #0 art. On a sidenote, I recently stumbled across your site (before this post!) and I think it's absolutely fantastic that you've devoted your personal time to this effort and hopefully helping out so many collectors :)

Oh I know, I'm just wondering if there is somewhere else Spanish collectors are sharing their art and that's perhaps why I haven't seen the pages I'm looking for!

Thanks for the reminder! I do have a tracker setup but haven't updated it in a while!

I think it's mostly for me since the website is easier than maintaining an excel spreadsheet haha.

Argh, yea I saw that it was issue 0 after I posted. Mark who runs Splash page has always been unbelievably helpful to me anytime I've had a question so I'm not sure if you've reached out to him for that exact issue but he's good at getting back to you within a day.

There's several Spanish artists I've been trying to track down pages from and I've been turning over every stone I can to find them.

I've been through their reps, managed to make direct contact, scour CAF, 2dgallery, HA, webarchive, most of the bigger Facebook groups but there is zero trace of these pages!

Based on my searches it doesn't seem like they have done conventions outside of Spain either, so I'm unsure whether these pages have traveled overseas.

So I'm wondering, is there somewhere I haven't looked where Spanish collectors are hanging out, that I've yet to find?!

P.S. the artists in question are Kano (issue #0), Jesus Saiz (issue #23.1) and Javier Pina (annual #2), in relation to some of their work on New 52 Swamp Thing.

I put together a little website, https://www.buyfromcomicartists.com, that has every possible avenue to buy art. I've been updating it almost daily with a new person, rep or site. I know you said you checked with their reps but Kano is with Splash Page and the other two are with SpanishInq just in case.

I’M ON WHATNOT! Torpedo Comics (torpedocomics) runs daily live auctions on Whatnot. They’ve created my Whatnot identity (mikezeck) and will run frequent live auctions from that identity offering my original art or other comics and prints. -Download the Whatnot app, register, search for and follow mikezeck, and look for notifications of upcoming auctions.- I’m a bit tardy with this post because my Whatnot auctions launched last weekend. The second one is scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday, Feb 13) at 1:00 PM Pacific time.

Click images below to view (1) Spider-Man original art sketch on a Secret Wars blank, sold during the Feb 6 “mikezeck” Whatnot live auction. (2) Captain America limited edition ‘retro’ print which premiered on the Feb 6 “mikezeck” Whatnot  live auction. (3) Captain America original art sketch on a New Avengers #1 blank, available on tomorrow’s Sunday, Feb 13 “mikezeck” Whatnot live auction beginning at 1:00 PM Pacific time. (4) Captain America limited edition ‘retro’ print premiering on tomorrow’s, Sunday, Feb 13 “mikezeck” Whatnot live auction beginning at 1:00 PM Pacific time.

I’m planning to make more sketch covers available throughout the year.  I was in the Torpedo Comics studio during last week’s live auction taking questions from bidders via the Whatnot chat feature. I’ll be in the studio again for tomorrow’s live auction as well. Drop in to say “hi”. View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize Torpedo Comics also conducts daily live sales and auctions on Instagram. I suggest following them on Instagram (torpedocomics) since my art, comics, and posters find their way into those live events as well.  And…  I’m planning to resurrect my shop with the help of Torpedo Comics. I had to close my shop page when I entered “travel-mode” last year. With Torpedo managing the shop, I can once again offer my signed prints, a new selection of limited edition prints, and signed comics. I’ll leave open the possibility of the occasional sketch but you’re much more likely to find original art by following “mikezeck” on Whatnot, “torpedocomics” on Whatnot, and “torpedocomics” on Instagram. The shop is under construction and I’ll give a heads up here when it goes live.  Check this page from time to time or hit the “subscribe” button in the menu bar to receive news updates. Follow “mikezeck” on Whatnot. Follow “torpedocomics” on Whatnot and Instagram, @TorpedoComics on Facebook, and @TorpedoComicsLV on Twitter.

    Nice effort

But I am asking myselft if it's a good idea to mention B. Anderson in this list...

As you will see in the news section of his website (from 2020), he says no artwork is currently for sale, and last time, some months ago, I asked him if I could buy something from me, maybe, in some of the tiny time "slots" he mentionned, he told me there wasn't even anymore any slots and that he didn't sell artwork anymore, so...

    Just my 2¢

Oh interesting. I bought a commission from him last year I believe
