I'm on "the list" for Collette but unfortunately it's close to a two year wait. I love her coloring -- very underrated artist, in my opinion.
I love Collette's work. I was just lucky enough to catch up with her and John Fleming at Fan Expo Canada.

Standard just gets them done faster. But sure, Magazine Modern would be fine. It may take a while to get back, magazines take longer than comics. I just went with standard because I wanted them fast and with all the signature fees and the like, purchase of book and grading costs, I had probably over $200 tied into each copy. Just my personal preference.
But then again, I'm thinking signature series costs----you're right. The OP is thinking generic blue universal. Modern magazine is obviously a better choice in this instance.
My last batch of 10 Magazine Moderns (Blue label) were Received 9/6 and shipped/safe 10/25, so not that bad of a TAT for magazines.

They get sub'd to CGC under Magazine standard.
Why not Magazine Modern (under $200)?

This Frank Kadar Inktober sketch cover just visited Spooky Empire Con in Orlando this afternoon. A huge thank you to Par2ch for all of his great help in getting signatures from Mulder, Scully, Skinner, Reyes, Doggett and Cigarette Smoking Man!

If the artist is someone that CGC is familiar with and you have a CGC account, you can have the artist send the sketch cover directly to them (along with a signed Creator's agreement form- that CGC can email you) and have the book submitted to your account for grading. If you don't have an account or you wish additional signatures, you will have to go through an accredited CGC facilitator to coordinate the signatures and submission. I have done both several times without issues.

Hey!
Some nice stuff on this thread!
Is anyone familiar with this comic? "Crime Stoppers of America" by Beto. It's a limited edition of 30, with a sketch and signature on the inside cover by Beto. From Beto at the the 2002 San Diego Con.
Just wondering if there were more of these printed without the sketch, limited edition and signature. I was hoping to find a reading copy.
Thanks!
I have not seen this one before.

Don’t listen to the first response. He didn’t understand your question... the second response about the tissue paper that is on a lot of the sketch cover books is correct. It is added to protect them from getting dirty in packing and shipping from the printer, to Diamond, to the local comic shops. You can remove it yourself or CGC will remove it for you when it arrives.
I usually fold fold it over to cover the back side of the book while an artists sketches the front. That way any dirt or ink from their table or sketch board doesn’t soil the back side (knocking the grade down). I did that for all 6 commissions from SDCC this year and the talk came back 9.8.
That is a great idea. It's often stray marks on the back blank cover that can drop the grade.

There’s been a series of these new blanks that have come with a blank sheet in front of the blank comic. How is this blank sheet supposed to be handled according to CGC if someone is going to sketch on the cover?
If you are referring to the thin blank sheet over a blank cover (like the Batman #50 books), that sheet can be removed at any time by either you or the artist. Some artists don't mind it and some feel it is in the way. If it is submitted to CGC still attached, they will remove it for you before grading/encapsulation with no effect on the grade.

A few more today.....
Stoked for this piece. Wayman Humphrey (themadpenciler), mainly a tattoo artist, only works in blue line. if you want a highly detailed penciled piece, this is the man.
Excited for this Frank Kadar piece to come back.....
Her costume looks amazing, now to get Ruby Rose to do a show.......
Nice little Del Otto remark.....
I had a feeling that this wonderful Kadar cover was yours! Also, congrats on the Goonies cover featured by CGC today.
